After watching many of your videos and thinking back on the times I've played Yorick (since his rework however long ago), he's just not a team player. As you've said, many times, he's basically a cannon minion. Without ghouls or his Maiden, he's pretty much just a worse version of Nasus. No wither and no scaling Q damage for successfully farming minions. It's sad because it's a team game but he just feels so bad. He, in my opinion, is the epitome of "once you start losing, it's near impossible to recover".

I would love to hear more about things in Latvia, whatever you care to discuss. In Brazil, we use the "kkk" for laugh (is pronounced kahkahkah"). Nobody laughs irl like that but we use it. So kkk is like an "haha" and "kkkkkkk" is like "lol"

This...perfectly mirrors my typical LoL experience. Maybe I should start playing Yorick mid... That being said, I've found that when I'm winning toplane but my team is struggling, roaming south once or twice can help, even if it's just to chuck a few ghouls at the enemy or randomly throw a wall in their path. Your chance of getting a kill is low, but making the enemy midlaner start playing defensively due to fear of ganks can be worth it.

old yorick was amazing in my eyes. riot struggled hard with balancing him. a lot of people (like now) stopped playing him because of little adjustments. like removing 1 movementspeed and suddenly whole community stops playing him because nerf is a nerf. he remained strong and solid till the end but not op anymore. and lacked popularity for the same reason. comparing popularity, old and new yorick are quite the same. difference is, that nowadays a lot of player watching league content on yt on a regular base. creators like pokerick are the reason why unpopular and rare champs finding their way back into game long term. i loved to play him in jungle and as adc the most. his ganks were quite strong due to powerful slow. at bot you could hard push them without getting punished. riot might erazied an unique champ, but not those great memories. 😍

Counter is the wrong word, I think. In this case, Warmogs is the "play to not lose" item, rather than the "play to win" item. It worked very well for Sion this game because Yorick's team was losing everywhere on the map but top, all Sion had to do to win was not die and not give up towers, so Warmogs was perfect. If Sion's team was losing then Warmogs would just make it worse since he sacrifices a lot of teamfight presence by taking that item instead of something else. To be fair to Sion, though, I think Yorick is a tough matchup for him: you have to CC yourself to waveclear so yorick gets free Es on you all day every day, so playing to not lose is probably his best option in that matchup.

I notice that you always strike the enemy with the edge of your E, It seems like more consistent way to target the enemy, any reason why you do it like that?

Because he's throwing it where they might walk and people, at his rank, are bound to move their champs more and try to dodge things. So if he puts his E where they might go and they try to dodge it, there's a good chance that it clips the edge, not the middle. I doubt he throws it purposely trying to hit the edge. That'd be like saying that a basketball player always tries to sink a shot after it hits the rim. They probably aren't doing it purposely, but it does seem to work.

If i recall correctly, Mr. Pokerick said that he does that because E is projectile. The closer you cast to you, the faster it lands and procs. So hitting it between you and enemy and getting him catched by last milimeters of landing hitbox is much faster than hitting him with the middle of landing hitbox.

Hi Pokerick, i have a question for you: since playing Yorick makes a person focus almost entirely on macro and what's happening on the map, you think playing said champion leads to a false sense of superiority in which one thinks he's more clever than other people? I main yorick and i often think my teammates are mongos but then, in the rare cases i play a more teamfight champ, i become the mongo. Also, against Sion and Cho'gath go first strike and cut down as secondary rune (the one that makes you do up to 15% more damage to champ with more hp than you), thank me later.

How, exactly, does it "make a person focus almost entirely on macro"? He's farming minions and going for towers and the nexus. What is macro about that? He focuses on doing his best in lane and getting a shit ton of CS. That's about as micro as you can get. If he was focused on macro, he'd be more worried about pushing hard when dragon is up or moving bot lane when they choose to do baron. So, if anything, I'd still say, as you put it, that you're the "mongo" for thinking the way you do. Junglers think about macro. Mid thinks about macro (since they have access to the whole map depending on how they roam). Top wants to punish for doing drag and bot wants to punish for going for rift or baron. Yorick just wants to farm minions and end the game. I fail to see your "false sense of superiority". If anything, playing a champ like Yorick would probably give you MORE tunnel vision, not less.

@@Dyanosis if you play yorick you're focused about what's happening on the map, pushing lanes, sacrificing yourself in order for your team to get objectives, splitting with maiden. How more macro than this you can get? And this allows a Yorick player to be way more aware than the average teammate about what's happening on the map. I feel way more clever than my teammates but i wonder if it's just because Yorick allows me to spend almost all my energy thinking about said elements instead of, dunno, preparing a perfect combo to gank someone.
