BIM with FreeCAD - The BIM workbench

This has been my best tool in FreeCAD. It's good for structural design. As an engineer I'd like to see (or contribute to) more tools that can help with the processes such as analysis, etc. But thank you so much. This has helped me drop so many other softwares that are extremely costly for someone who is from where I am from! To more dev of FreeCAD!

bom dia Sr YORIK, eu tenho usado o FREECAD, mas quando eu uso a bancada techdraw, e gero as vistas 2d e coloco as cotas ai eu exporto em dxf para o nanocad ou para o qcad, o freecad só exportando o desenho sem as cotas, gostaria de saber se é assim mesmo ou tem alguma configuração a fazer para exportação em dxf seja completa com as cotas, já consultei farias pessoas no youtube e no foro e não tive resposta, tem com o sr me orientar ?

Can you make the parametric distance be applied in Arch or This BIM workbench......the same thing used in Sketcher workbench

Hi Yorik van Havre, I have the Freecad version 0.18, revision number 4, for windows 10, 64 bits, I installed the BIM. After restart the Freecad and try to use the BIM, I take this message: "Workbench failure cannot import name IfcProduct" Why? Thanks for your possible help

It's solved I uninstalled FreeCAD and reinstalled it. I added the BIM and it already runs. Yorik van Havre keep up your excellent sharing and tool development!

Not much yet, but it's basically 90% a matter of building prefab elements (pipe sections, accessories, etc...) so all it requires is people of good will to start modeling that ;) The parts library has some elements already github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-library
