I went to the ER 14 times over several months with chest pain radiating into my neck and jaw. Every time, my EKG and cardiac enzymes were perfectly normal. The ER doctors would tell me it wasn't my heart and send me home. I felt like I was going to die. FINALLY, a cardiology doctor came to evaluate me and said he did not feel comfortable sending me home. He admitted me to the hospital and ordered an angiogram. I had a 95% blockage of my LAD and two 80% blockages in my right coronary artery. I received three stents and was put on a blood thinner and multiple blood pressure medications. Thank goodness for doctors who pay attention to their instincts.
@sm_au4 жыл бұрын
David Clay I was in similar situation. My LAD on angiogram was 50% and they did not consider it significant. They said they would stent it at 60% which is what the CT scan showed. All tests otherwise were fine. Very fortunate your cardiologist was called in to check it out!

I had the same thing. EKG was fine blood test showed a very small rise so they did a stress tests that showed nothing so they did an angiogram and found I had a 100% blocked chronic total occlusion with bridging collaterals at the top of my RCA and 2/3 down was blocked 95%. They didn’t do anything and sent me home. Went to another doctor and they stented both open.

I'm from Lancashire. I had chest pain, rather sharp in left side. It occurred randomly. As two members of my family died due to heart attack and one is suffering from the heart condition, I was checked out immediately. However, they could not find anything, which was pleasing. Prior to that, I had to go for breast cancer clinic as they felt that my mammogram from previous time, three years ago, was slightly different from the present. The procedure required inserting a long needle to my right breast in order to investigate the cause. This left my breast tissue tender. After a couple of months, I stated Gym, doing my usual cardio and gental weight exercises. Within few weeks i started getting a sharp pain in my left chest as I mentioned before. I was certain that my pain was due to the insertion of the needle that may have left my breast muscles prone to damage on stretching. This video appears to confirm my reasoning. Thank you Dr Gupta.

Excellent, excellent video. Thank you. As i read through the comments, something quite surprising popped out.... the large number of people who are experiencing undiagnosed or untreated or ineffectively treated chest pain. This is very interesting. On the one hand, it's very good to hear these personal stories as it helps everyone realize how common such medical conditions exist. On the other hand, it begs the question, "How many undiagnosed or ineffectively treated medical conditions exist?" It's very concerning, and a very complex discussion. I feel bad for the top doctors such as Dr. York who are helping so many, but understand the limited amount of assistance available relative the scope and quantity of medical conditions in the general public. I am also having undiagnosed chest pains but only when doing aerobic exercise and only intermittently. Therefore, I do not consider my condition serious but will seek medical advice at some point. Good luck to all, and thanks to everyone for sharing your story so we can all learn.

@@That_TSLA_Dude If I had your condition, the first question I would require the docs to answer is, "Can you tell me with full confidence that the pain I am experiencing is NOT something that indicates a very serious medical condition that requires immediate attention?" The docs (if they are properly qualified) absolutely must be capable of answering that question. If the answer is, "no", or, "we cannot be certain", then I would start working up the food chain. Demand a reference, i.e., specialist who has a thorough background in your particular issue. The point is this.... plain and simple, there is a near-certainty that SOMEONE can diagnose your condition. The bad news is that you may have to fight until you get the answers you need. Happens often in the medical field. good luck.

I have coronary artery spasm / micro vascular angina diagnosed by Prof Kaski in London following two confirmed heart attacks . My heart attacks were recorded whilst undergoing angiogram, elevated troponin and ecg. It took years to be taken seriously by my cardiologist in my local hospital as my ecg can be normal during my heart attacks. ECG change was noted when I was in the ambulance but it’s intermittent so the chances of it being noted is low. My cardiologist said to me if he hadn’t seen it on the ambulance ecg he would never had thought the chest pain was cardiac related. When I call an ambulance with terrible chest pain I can’t cope with I have to ask the paramedics to keep watching the ecg even if normal as it will show up then disappear then pop up again. I manage my unstable angina 95% of the time at home and only ask for help if I am desperate. What is dangerous is to be told oh don’t worry coronary artery spasm is painful but harmless. It’s NOT, it has caused two heart attacks aged 39yrs old and again at 45yrs old confirmed by Prof Kaski.

An EKG and stress test came back normal but chest pain/pressure got worse. 3 days later I walked into the Emergency Room where I was told I had 100% blockage in the OM and immediately had a stent put in. When I followed up with the cardiologist why he couldn't diagnose the heart attack, he explained it as the blocked OM artery had a connection with another artery that rerouted the blood flow. He said it's rare...I'm not sure if I believe that explaination. Is this plausible?

I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you! Can you explain why my blood pressure shoots up in the middle of the night?

My pressure is high at night as well along with palpitations and chest pain 😭😭😭😭 I'm tired of suffering
@59kuphoff4 жыл бұрын
@@preciousloveslopez I have found two things that have been extremely helpful for me. 1. I eat less (as the Dr recommended). For my age and level of activity 2 meals and a snack are sufficient. 2. I had stopped drinking coffee and this is when I started have problems with my blood pressure. Despite all the evidence that says coffee raises blood pressure, when I resumed drinking 1 cup of coffee (12 oz) in the morning my blood pressure went down 20 points. With these 2 changes, my blood pressure is never over 140/90 and almost always lower. My night-time spikes have ceased. Hope you find a good solution.

Have her check to see if her potassium is low. Low potassium is needed for heart conductivity. Severe chest pain and left back pain is one of my symptoms along with increase heart rate, heart palpitations, and shortness of breath with activity. My symptoms are worse when I go to lay down and at night.
@conniemorgan60554 жыл бұрын
@@rabens02 Thank you, I am not sure will check with her about the potassium. I know she has done a lot of tests and seen a lot of doctors and they have ruled out pretty much everything that could give you chest pain. I know she tells me her family doctor is always saying her blood work is great.
@rabens024 жыл бұрын
@@conniemorgan6055 Same here only thing they found was that my potassium was low but they did not attribute my symptoms to the potassium even though my level was low. So when I started taking it was an instant difference, I ended up needing daily supplements of it. I can feel when it gets low and when I take it feels better. This Covid 19 is causing a continuous loss of potassium to varying degrees in people, yet hardly anyone or any doctors are talking about it. Now that I recognize the symptoms and can say I've had episodes of this for years but I never knew what it was so something is making me prone to it. She can request or look back at the results of her BASIC METABOLIC PANEL and see what her potassium levels are. See if they are on the low end. She can also start with adding some potassium rich foods and should notice some improvement pretty quickly if that is indeed some of the source of her symptoms. It is called Hypokalemia and there are multiple conditions that can cause it and it can be a side affect of other diseases, poor diet, and genetic factors. She can look that term up and compare symptoms to hers easiest test is to try the food change first.

Carmen Pecco I’ve had costochondritis for 7 years. Have had all the tests, echocardiogram, thousands of ECG’s, 20-30 ER visits. sometime’s it manifests as localized pain like Doc said, other times it can feel like a pressure in your chest all over, and it can radiate. ibubrofen/motrin, anti-inflammatory meds can dull the pain if it’s really bad, and if you get relief from the motrin then you know it’s consto and not your heart. i also have paroxysmal afib and PAC’s all the time so I feel your pain of being weary of trusting that the tests were correct. google ‘back pod.’ a lot of times costo can be relieved from releasing the tension in your spine that has been ‘frozen’ from bad posture or some other invisible injury. once the pressure is relieved and is no longer pushing on your sternum joint the pain will subside.

I have one...Signs of paraesophageal hernia include, gastroesophageal reflux (heart burn, bloating, burping) chest and/or abdominal pain, shortness of breath, nausea and vomiting, For patients with a paraesophageal hernia who are experiencing symptoms (abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding and/or reflux), surgical treatment is typically recommended to prevent a strangulated hernia. Surgical intervention usually involves pushing the stomach or other protrusions back into place. The surgeon then narrows the gap in the diaphragm (hiatus) with sutures and mesh materials to prevent another hernia

I have had esophageal spasms for about 20 years and yes at times when they hit it can feel like your heart is being squeezed like a sponge. The key thing for me to where I always knew that it was gastric is that it usually occurs after eating certain foods, almost like an allergy. Sometimes I can get these with increased frequency, other times I may go months without one. After years, they finally did an endoscopy after one harrowing episode and found that my esophagus was narrower than normal and actually dilated it during the procedure. They believe the root cause is a form of GERD and now have me on 20mg a day of Omeprazole which I am not happy about. After reading about GERD and it causes as well as seeing other videos on Dr. Gupta's channel, I have also started taking Magnesium.

What should be the gap between the first test and the second one...Does it require at all to have angiogram again and again ? Best regards.

Thank you Dr. Gupta. I have just finished a series of all kinds of tests, x-rays, tomographia, but no, no reason is found for my chest pain, unless hiatal hernia, which is described as 'importante', and acid reflux. But these were detected already in 2009. Last summer, on Aug. 24 my husband frightened me thoroughly, and immediately I felt my heart and all my strength melt away. Since that day and until now, Feb.29th I feel the chest pain, which makes me feel out of breath, hard to walk, lift anything etc. Often in the evenings I feel a sharp pain in my left breast, but I've got no explanation for that. What could I do to get well enough to work in my garden a liitle instead of staying in bed ?

I had chest pain all the time. After going on a strict carnivore diet, the chest pain is gone. It wasn't just acid reflux although that was part of it. I was inflamed from whatever else I ate. It was like a pleurisy-type pain around my lungs as near as I can figure, but it is gone now. IDK if anyone concurs with this, but it's what happened to me.

Me! Me! This is me! Angina doesn't stop after a minute, an hour, a few hours ..... It lasts 12-14 hours every single day for weeks. Prior to that, I might have a few days without angina. This has been 2 years. All tests say I'm fine. I AM NOT! doctor says vascular angina. I'm now on Verapamil and just started isosorbide ER. While for the first time, I am free of angina --- for maybe an hour or two while the migraine takes over! Which one is worse? I don't have to choose because within a couple of hours I have both incredible migraine & disabling chest pain! If nothing can ever fix this, then I don't know that I can handle it much longer. No-one would live this way. Certainly I don't think I can.

It could also be the esophagus I have these pains all the time and I've had them for about 4 years when this comes on it starts out like a very slight feeling in my neck and it goes down to my chest within seconds I feel like a snake is being wrapped around me and squeezing me I can breathe just fine but the feeling in my chest is so heavy I can barely move and it runs around my back if I don't get to it right away. When this first started happening I happen to grab a carbonated soda and drink some of it really fast I didn't know what else to do it went away immediately I mean immediately. So now what I do is I always have cold water with me or a carbonated soda. I never know when this is going to happen I can go a couple of months without it ever happening and then just be in the grocery store and I feel that sensation and I know it's going to happen.
