Watch this before you do the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge! Whilst walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks with my family it quickly became clear that there is a big problem. Hopefully this video will help create awareness about the mindless discarding of toilet paper, wet wipes and sanitary pads along the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge Route.

Great video and brilliant to raise awareness of this sort of thing. The Yorkshire Dales are possibly my favourite place in the world and seeing such laziness scatter the landscape makes me sad. Thanks for raising awareness!

Absolutely!! Drives me mad. I live on the edge of Dartmoor national park and when I take the family out for an explore the amount of paper, packaging, disposable bbqs and entire tents that are left behind is disgusting. If you can carry it onto the moorland you can carry it off! Good on you for putting this out 👍🏻

I’ve done the Yorkshire 3 peaks many times at different times of the year. Never noticed any toilet paper or face wipes. Also hiked in the Lakes, Wales & Scotland & never been an issue. I suspect this is something you ‘discovered’ and needed content for.

Great awareness video Chris. There is no excuse to dump rubbish on the trail / countryside / attractions or anywhere else for that matter. Easy enough to carry those bits with you and safely dispose of them. Very sad. I can only imagine how, those who live close to some of these attractions / places etc. , must feel 😞

It's the same down here in Dorset, Chris. During the summer we had thousands of visitors to our beach in Weymouth and every day there were piles of nappies, clothes, bottles and food containers all over the place. Really made the locals angry!

Absolutely unbelievable! I always have a dog-poo bag and some tissue as prefer a dab to a shake, but the idea of just chucking it and walking away is insane! And sanitary towels🤮 WTF is wrong with people?! It’s like people who bag and leave dog poo on the trail (saw loads of that between Lose Hill and Mam Tor!) Beggars belief. Great awareness vid.

Aww man that’s terrible!!! Littering on trails happens sometimes here in PacNW but thankfully it’s scant. The more popular tourist spots are manicured by parks services and the off the beaten path trails seem to only attract the more respectful people. Such a bummer that there’s all that trash 👎🏼
@ChrisWilkinson1

Thankfully in most places in the UK it's not as bad. I think because this is a charity challenge route it attracts people who are less respectful of the countryside.

Unfortunately, it's like that all over the world. Here in Portugal, even at national monuments we find littering and absolute disrespect for both historic landmarks and other people. The tourist is a quite strange animal.

Good on you for highlighting what is a massive problem. I don’t agree that not much can be done about it; people need educating that’s all. You’re choosing to try to do that, which is great, but it shouldn’t be up to you. Respectful use of the countryside benefits everybody, so should be an ingrained part of the standard school curriculum. We have to ask ourselves, if we as individuals can choose to try to educate people, why is our government choosing not to?

Honourable message in this video. How could people litter something so gorgeous? I’m born and raised in London so the countryside is very foreign to me. If I ever saw this beauty I would treat it like national treasure. Foolish people.

Unfortunately for some reason there is no education neither social responsibility in the UK with the litter issue. In most countries I've been living in Europe you would be shamed for if seen publicly littering, while in the UK it seems normal.

It would look ugly but one good solution would be to put some out houses along the trail maybe make the outhouses' out of rock with some cement....You could blend the out houses to look like rock little houses or something because that would be better then throwing it on the ground....or maybe people should bring a small bag to throw there toilet paper in and then when they get home they can throw it away...We deal with the same shit up here in the nation forest people throw there garbage out and it pisses me off....I here you Chris do not like that myself....I do not like people throwing garbage out there either...I love are planet.....Very nice Story about how we need to clean are act up....Or people could just wear a Diaper and they can just shit there Diaper i mean really! Wear a Diaper please do not leave your garbage shit wet wipes ect ect....

People disrespectful to the countryside? Every cyclist I've ever met on the route. I don't know why you would cycle on such a popular route with walkers, frequently with dogs on leads. On a bike you could choose to go anywhere. Just the wrong place for you to be on a bike. And for some reason being on a bike means cyclists stop showing any connection to other people in proximity to their bike. No eye contact, no acknowledgement. Just wrong.
