In 2017, I put out the first ever Yoruba video on this channel, since then the Yoruba wheelhouse has blown up and grown. Almost a million views later, and taking on your feedback from that first ever video, I've created and updated and detailed first episode to address the questions you had in the first video! I hope you enjoy it.

Greetings, my dear teacher. I really want to go, but I am cautious with placing a deposit without knowledge of how much the total trip will cost. I hope I will receive more information as I've requested when I filled the form out. Blessings to you always!

Im at a point now where I seriously need to learn how to speak Yoruba. I'm a young Yoruba man in my mid 20s and I've never been to Nigeria once unfortunately but both of my parents are from there as I was born in North America. When it comes to choosing a Yoruba wife, i feel it'll look bad if I can't speak or at least understand Yoruba and my mom has been on my case about learning it lool but I see the seriousness behind it now. I hope through your videos and other resources you offer, I can learn Yoruba so I can relate with people who are also Yoruba where I live and when I do eventually visit Nigeria.

i completely understand because my mum never taught me yoruba when i was young cause i live in the uk. I used to speak it really well up until the age of 4 but then I started going to school and learning english so my mum never bothered to teach me how to speak it again

That’s the story of all of us, the next generation let us down. They chose not to teach us out language under a false pretence of not wanting to ruin our English. Learn the verbs and you can’t start sentences. E.g Mon lo shop Im going shop

I relate but my parents were born over here in America and I grew up speaking English and learning a little Spanish. Blessing has helped me and my children to learn the Yoruba language and I've been practicing with some of my Yoruba family here in NYC. Making flash cards with index cards while watching these videos has helped me and my children a lot. We also tape some of the flash cards onto the walls to remember certain words. Now some of us "Akatas" are learning our languages thanks to the internet...lol I wish you the best on your journey.

Good job. E nle which actually is E pele is actually not acceptable to several Yoruba people. It is a greeting of Oppressor to the oppressed or unfortunate. It is a precarious phrase that must not be uttered to an inlaw. I've always watched you from the original episode 1 and i enjoy your input into the Yoruba world. Best wishes

Loveee the video. As someone who knows the Yoruba words and understands the language but cannot articulate my sentences at all. This has been a great lesson. I'm definitely calling my grandmother tonight!! But one suggestion, it would be great if at the end of the video, you could have like a conversation with yourself using everything we learnt in the video. Thanks so much for your dedication, all these years ❤️

You’re missing the context and being pedantic. Ekaale is the equivalent of good morning good evening good afternoon. It is a form of hello. It id at night hence good night. Odaro is good night as a farewell. Completely different things.
