I agree. That has to be one of the most terrible game designs I have ever seen in a Mario game. There is no sign or indication that those are hidden there. It's like those terrible troll levels in Mario Maker with hidden keys or vines. I remember trying to 100% the GBA version on the Wii U in 2017. After about an hour or so, I looked it up and was baffled about how horribly hidden those were, and I still am. The level as a whole is still great overall, but those last four red coins really hold it back.

Yes so um I think we're gonna put a red coin in the sky but make sure the camera pans down andddd make sure the screen doesn't move up when you jump giving 0 clues to the last 4 red coins.

Thanks for posting this! As an update once you get up there, GO TO THE LEFT. Stand on the edge of the Chompy rock to to moves all the way to the right, a floating ? appears dropping a sunflower ladder seed allowing you access to the clouds above.

I'm with Colin, it's not like there's an arrow that points to the direction where the secret back then. It's bad design that tests the players patience whenever if he finds it out of pure luck or searches up for a guide. How do you think hint hotline back then made their cut.

And keep in kind this isn't Mario maker, you aren't looking for a random flower on the ground that some 8 year old left as an indication of where their dev path is, this is an actual Mario game. What they should have done was make this specific log have a slightly different look from the others, thus indicating something special was there.

I did some esssspeccccttaacccuulllar on this level. I got 635 lives! No kidding, i got it. When i was playing this i've got that first guy that turns into a "melon" and use it to throw into enemies. No so far away, there's a pipe next to the star circle (checkpoint). I throw the guy there, and he turned into melon... i used some eggs and shy-guys were jumping from the pipe, so after sometime, i got 1-up for enemy taken down by him The last part was easy. I had lunch and let the game alone...
