Living in Tokyo since the mid 90's....it a 1st to hear Yoshiki speak English....Very well indeed too....Had no idea about Toshi's cult story....Hide was a loss....he was a bone marrow donor before his death ....gave the gift of life to someone...I'll never forget the collective sadness in Tokyo of his passing...and not just his fans...

Yoshiki's honest humor or curiousness I think gives room for his ability to take Steve's light-hearted blithesome attempts to 'get to know' the person or poke around very smoothly. He's open in general. I couldn't believe the honor of his follow from 2 posts I did last yr. no matter the serious dedicated topic. He's not one to over-assert the fast lane untouchable pace he can afford coming from a background of emotionally turbulent highways in his art/life - (not cliched like succumbing then crawling out of drug addiction) - from true interpersonal hardships or tensities. He's interesting to say the least. X to #XJAPAN at CHOACHELLA with (L) and not (R) but either is awesome. lol

Yoshiki that guy's talking about the Indian guru is Osho(Bhagwan) used to have a big ashram in Oregon, US. Yes, he was an amazing guy like a modern Buddha who were awakened. In 80's I was against him but I really like him and understood him now! I've been reading his books a lot in Japanese. By the way: Lady Gaga is reading his books and is loving them.*** so Osho is totally different than Toshi's cult guy!!

Star 575 とりあえず前半のあらすじを。 アルバムリリースがなぜ22年ぶりになったのか、その間何があったのかを大まかに説明。Toshlの洗脳の下りから司会者はインドのカルトが好きという話に脱線し、Yoshikiは司会者の浅い知識をうだうだ聞かされながら若干面倒そうな顔に。その後ToshlがXに戻ってきた経緯、Hideの死の経緯とX再結成について語っていました。だいたい他の日本語インタビューの内容がそのまま英語になっていた感じです。そのあと、子供の頃に経験した父親の自殺がYoshikiの音楽にもたらした影響について語り始めました。司会者は父親の死がYoshikiをロックに向かわせたという意味でポジティブだったのではないかとのたまい、Yoshikiは再び複雑な表に。。 Xの派手な髪や服装は当時の日本ではどうだったのか？という質問に、Yoshikiは30年前の日本は確かに保守的だったが、ここ最近はロックに対する見方も変わり、赤い髪やパンクな人を多く見られるようになったと回答。司会者は畳み掛けるように日本の犯罪率など社会的な変化はあったのかと質問するも、Yoshikiは犯罪率については知らないと回答。ただし、日本人らしい礼儀正しさは変わっていないのではないか、とも回答。 その後、影響されたミュージシャンの話題に移行して行きました。
