I love the theme and the final fight against him is pretty neat, but.. I kinda have the feeling that they originally wanted to do more battles with him. (SPOILERS) Especially the scene with him and Kamek in the final castle seemed like they initially planned something with both of them, may it be a battle or a little gimmick similar to NSMBU's final castle.

Such a good theme and it’s been so long since I’ve seen Bowser Jr fight on his feet rather than in his dinky little clown car. That and his wonder form looks so badass. The red eyes, green flaming hair, the sharper green shell spikes, the blue scales, jet black shell, and of course the fact his trademark facial mask just became his mouth filled with sharp teeth

An idea for the Bowser Jr fight if a DLC is released: First phase: You know what happens here. Second phase: Springs appear out of the ground, and Bowser Jr can bounce off of them and get some airtime. Third phase: Bowser Jr grows wings and can swoop down towards Mario. Mario has to attempt to dodge the air attack. Final phase: Both the second and third phase combined.

Mario bosses aren't ever intense. I'm glad they made his fight a spectacle so I had something fun to look at and kept his vulnerable moments spaced out. Boom-Boom and the Koopalings could be cheesed so easily, I almost never saw what they actually did in their fights.
