For what? Usually having a relationship with a subordinate is not allowed. And if it is they usually require you to disclose. They met and he didn't know they worked together but after finding that out he shouldn't have continued it or disclosed it. If it wasn't disclosed I'm assuming it wasn't allowed. But I'm also assuming she probably showed them text messages or something proving they had a relationship. That's his bad too. If he had such a great job why jeopardize that? Also NY is an employment at will state. They don't have to have a good reason to terminate, unless it's for certain rights, then you have legal action.
