Agreed. It's one of those rare pieces of music that makes me smile whenever I hear it. Solid gold.

I have been following OUR KINDA JAZZ, but this one is the masterpiece. I was a young boy attending Castle Lager Jazz festival Orlando Stadium. Man we had good artist.

I only found this song in 2024, after a group of now friends played it at a fundraiser for families living under zionist occupation. Their song was the end of a set which followed testimonies from the families; and this song was like a commitment to victory, to resistance, and to hope. I hope this song feels like hope and joyful resistance for anyone who needs it.

Thank you... What a tribute! I'd get this one out for any I love... Most obituaries make me sick and angry... Usually those w/ the most power get to punctuate an individual's life... "He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past' F*ck That. A spirit cannot be channeled into a pithy three sentence summation... By a bunch of vultures. Just stick this on repeat for eternity.

Marvellous track! I could be wrong about this and don't want this to seem picky but I think it was originally written by Mongezi Feza rather than for his memory.

Hi, did you ever find out if Mongezi Feza did write this wonderful tune ?
@RAHSband6 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is Momgezi's tune. Chris McGregor's Brotherhood of Breath recorded it live in 1977 after he had passed away. Hear them on Procession Live at Toulouse on Ogun OGCD 040.

Pat Moriarty thank you so much, I will listen to your recommendation :- )

It is in fact a well known hymn in South Africa, Mongezi "wrote" it as a conceit hence the title.

Not vinyl - but there's a version on the other "Spirits Rejoice" album, by the Dedication Orchestra, on Ogun. Well worth hearing - I don't know whether it's still available.

Got to see the Orchestra twice in Vancouver, BC - incredible lineup of musicians and two wonderful evenings of music. This song was a highlight. I think Alan Tomlinson and Paul Rutherford shared trombone duties on this song.

This is what I want, and I'm acomplished,. left on my own to my only options, uh, A Little stay, a vay cay at the hospice, Hoes pleas, hoes splice them knees I need to see a little sod, yes, This grass is green, the gas has left me unconscious, I rock like pete, and peter slick the dick rick, was feelin sick, I filled in for his spot, yes, I fuckin tone it down, I'm still printyng, what a process, I quit my job today, A little pre emptivly, but I can't have half ass atempts tempting me, to take a temporay position back, aim legendary, and at least land, higher then the settle, very early, sedemtry, value, Never worried, positive, that I'll hit where it is.
