This is excellent, what I wouldn't give to send this back in time to myself a dozen years ago. I was brand new to a church where nearly every fellow woman my age was involved in some kind of MLM, some had 2 or 3 at a time. Making friends was impossible there, as soon as they'd find out I didn't have at least $20 per quarter, per person to buy the stuff they sold, it was clear I literally wasn't worth their time. Talking to the pastors about it wouldn't have helped, they or their spouses were in MLMs too. Really wanted to stay and change it, but ultimately had to leave since they weren't interested. This information would have given me the grace to accept that I didn't have to do that. Thank you so much.

Very well said. It helped me feel more compassion, honestly. I have grown very impatient with MLMs, feeling that the 'business-owners' were always just exploiting their friends. This clouded my ability to remember that they were being exploited worse. MLMs suck, but in the future, I will let friends in them know that I am here when they are ready to stop.

One of my relatives was in a seminar MLM. He spent a ton of money for, at the end, nothing.

I know the MLM space is pretty female dominated but that Rich Dad guy is a key influencer and plenty of guys get into MLMs too. Idk you see how easy people are to be like “well that specific thing doesn’t apply so it must not be my group”
