Latte, the Christmas Center director, was always a special lady. Though she never spoke of it, the rest of the Center's staff could tell she was from Earth. But not many Earthlings lived in Christmas Village. Few ever found it. Earthlings as a whole are not very sensitive to the dream world. They rarely think of anything beyond their own planet. But Latte was different. Latte was the little girl who could always be found reading an ancient hand-bound book or gazing for hours at the stars. Latte liked to watch ants march across the sidewalk by her house, and she liked to fall asleep under the Christmas tree every year. Many Earthlings have dreams, but Latte actually believed in her dreams. You see, Latte believed in Santa Claus. She believed in giving generously and from the heart and in peace on earth. She slept under her Christmas tree every year, not because she was greedy for her own presents, but because she wanted to meet her hero. And then one beautiful, snowy, pure Christmas Eve night, she did meet Santa Claus under her Christmas tree. He saw her pure soul and asked her to join him at the Christmas Village on his mission to bring joy to the world. So she joined him in his sleigh and his Rudolphs brought her through the Moon Gate to the Christmas Center, where Christmas lives. And she is still living there, following her dreams, and making the galaxy a happier and brighter place.

onerva I'm Finnish and here the original Santa was actually a pagan figure: a goat (we still call him Christmas Goat) who'd bring gifts to nice kids and spanking materials to naughty ones. The concept of someone bringing good things once a year to good people is surprisingly universal.
