32:27 I think you meant "34 and 29 Jupiter masses".

I concur. This stood out to me as well. Off the top of my head, I knew Jupiter was on the order of hundreds of Earth masses, and brown dwarfs were many times Jupiter's mass. So this really didn't sound right.

also, you dont read the "V" at the sun-classification, its called "main sequence". so not "our sun is a G-2-5" but " our sun is a G-2-main sequence star" you write the numer, but read it as class

My favorite way of thinking how big space is - I'm in Melbourne, Australia. If we represent the Sun to scale with a basketball in my bedroom, Earth is a small pebble in the backyard (20 metres away), and Proxima Centauri is a grape in Singapore (6000km away).

I had a date saturday and I turned on this video after watching some Xena Warrior Princess. Needless to say, she adores me. Thanks Nick :) Oddly enough there's a comment of mine from when this was first posted commented on being depressed. I'm sure you'd be interested to know I'm in a much better situation having moved 2000 miles (about 3500km) from home into a new environment. I just looked at the distance from UK to new Jersey. 5500km. That's absolutely mind boggling having just driven 2/3rds of that. The ocean is unfathomable to my mind, let alone planets. Hope the new year is treating you well.

I absolutely love this. I've always been deeply interested in getting a proper grasp of the neighborhood and a lack of proper maps has always bothered me. I've thus far found refuge in diagrams of the Local Group, showing the large and small galaxies that neighbor the Milky Way. But this is, of course, much more close-to-home and a much more human scale. It's incredibly interesting to hear a summary of *all* the stars nearby. You get an actual feel for what material we actually have around us. It's very interesting to see how different minor stars are discovered too. Thank you very much for this video Nick!! ^_^ "4.4 lightyears as the laserbeam flies" amused me a bit too much :p "The three could form a comedy line-up" God I love this silliness! *99% certainty.*
