One day I was going to my close friend's house, and I said "bye dad, I love you!" Before he drove away. He said I love you too and then he shut his car door and drove home. He said he would pick me up the next day at 8:30pm and when I looked at the time the next day, it was 11:47pm. I called him 4 times and he never answered. I called my mom and she said she would check up on him. She called me back about 7 minutes later telling me he fell calmly and peacefully. When I asked her what that meant, she told me that he was never going to wake up, ever again. I dropped my phone on the wooden floor and I cried. I decided to listen to this song for his remembrance, and my sanity. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I guess since this is a place to share how people use this song in their lives, I might as well share my story as well. In early 2016, I met the "love of my life", but we didn't officially go out together until November 1st, 2017. He told me that there was something that he was really afraid to tell me, which was that his father passed away on August 2016, and it made him feel depressed and suicidal. Shortly after knowing this information, I remembered this song. Now, I haven't lost any of my parents yet, but I definitely didn't want to lose my love. So, I sang this song to him, and he cried the first time he heard me sing it to him. He asked for me to sing the song almost all the time so that he could be reminded that someone loves him in the world, and I would always sing it to him. Then, I saved up some money and bought him a small music box that played the melody of the song. I said to him that whenever we were apart, he could listen to the music box. On October 2018, we broke up... It was one of the toughest decisions of my life, and I was questioning if I did the right thing. My family hated him, and all of my friends didn't like him either. I ended up not talking to him for a few months, but then I wanted to see what his life was like without me. He called me and said "I still have the music box." I didn't believe him, and then he played it. He told me he was playing it every day ever since we broke up. I am now back with him, since I realized that I was lucky to have someone like him❤️

If you guys want an update, here. We are still together and we talk practically every day. I haven't seen him in person in about a month because of the coronavirus, but we still talk to each other. I asked him today if he still had the box and he said that he has it on a desk and he plays it whenever he is sad. This song reminded me of my ex, she is bright and lovely. I found her on my dark days and she is my sunshine. My days with her were joyful. Then she had to study aboard for some years, plus there were some issues between us, so she decided that we should end the relationship, said that I should moved on and became a friend. However, it just really hard to moved on from good memories and I still missed her a lot, every time I went to places we went together I still saw her images, her smile. It sad but also happy in the same time. Wherever you are my dear, hopefully some days we can meet again.

We played this song to Simon as a baby to help him get off to sleep. Simon passed away 3 weeks ago, 32 years old, in tragic circumstances. His Mum remembered the tune in the days following and when we found this version on KZbin, the words seemed so appropriate. Every time we play it the tears flow, as our sunshine has been taken away. Simon offered so much sunshine to many people during his all too brief life. Our beautiful boy - we will keep you in our hearts forever. Love Mum & Dad
