Tried to sing this song on a Cleveland kiddie show and they went to black. But I became a Hollywood Songwriter anyway. D

@dorothywells-wz5nr I've loved this song my entire life. My mother used to sing it to me when I was a little boy. She passed 3 years ago and was 82 years old. She was a real lady, mother, and loved her family with all her entire heart. I miss her every day.

This is just delightful. Milne gives such pleasant, melodic and tasteful fills. I hope your channel will continue to grow and reach more viewers. Also, at the risk of sounding perfunctory, I’m really sorry you lost your mom. That’s something I haven’t experienced at this point in time and can only imagine.

Thank you very much. She would've been captivated by your composing talent... and then she would have wanted to play what you write. She could sight read music so very well. Edvard Greig and Rachmaninoff were her favorites.

This sounds wonderful on your piano. Your mom's smiling right now, I'm sure. 😊

It's really funny hearing this tune arranged in a 1940s classical jazz style and not played as a one-step like most other rolls! I'd say this is one of Milne's better rolls from the 1940s. A lot of his later rolls were more dry and less polished than his work for the reproducing companies. I think that's because since there was control of dynamics that was possible, Milne was able to make better arrangements that would sound too busy on a standard action with no fine dynamic control.

I also have this song (it's one of my favorite songs ever) by JLC on both qRS and Aeolian. They are "similar"... but yet different. Aeolian roll 1900 & QRS 7258.

@@SevenPlus65 Interesting! Cook made separate arrangements based on what company he was working for at the time and also what time period he made them in. His style changed over the years.

@PiotrBarcz Yes, that's seems to be what he did. Sometime, I'd like to post both of those 2 versions at the same time as a fun comparison for enthusiasts and musicians like yourself.

@@SevenPlus65 Yeah, Skgwgaietto did that on a few occasions, pretty cool thing to do!

@PiotrBarcz Yes he did. He provides a wonderful and full array of rare and old rolls. His channel is definitely a source of both intellectual and entertaining material unequaled. It's a music library.
