I love Tao's way of revealing "things" but My mom never did that to me. She stopped beating me before I turned twelve. And she doesn't like us or adults that she can't vouch cleanliness /gentility with clothing for, to do her laundry until she turned 55. She uses typical indirect speeches but she never "lied" against us. And she wasn't even a graduate not to talk of being westernized. The thing is, she didn't like that kind of "African" ways of doing things. I raised my children in similar way as she raised me. She's late now and I really love her own kind of African upbringing. My children and I enjoy using her style of upbringing.
