UNCUT INTERVIEW! Did you ever wonder if there were different types of intelligence?
Most of us think of someone with high intelligence as someone who remembers everything and can complete tough mathematical formulas, in other words, a genius.
But is remembering a bunch of facts and figures the true marks of a genius?
Robert Kiyosaki doesn’t think so.
In this edition of Millennial Money, Robert and Alex discuss the four different types of intelligence, how school hurts us with labels, and how to be successful regardless of your genius type.
The Four Different Types of Intelligence
Using the diagram of a tetrahedron, Robert discusses the four types of intelligence as: mental, physical, emotional and spiritual.
Mental intelligence is what most of us think about when we think of a genius. The Jeopardy winner, math whiz or computer science geek all come to mind. But being a mental genius isn’t the only way to achieve success.
The physical genius is another type of intelligence. Tiger Woods is a great example. Though Tiger is an incredible book smart individual (he did attend from Stanford after all) his true genius can be found on display on the golf course.
The third type of intelligence Robert discusses is emotional intelligence. To Robert, it’s the lack of emotional intelligence around money that keeps people poor. As Robert sees it, the key to improving your emotional intelligence can be found through gameplay.
The final intelligence is spiritual intelligence. This intelligence differs from mental intelligence because of unity. In school, we’re taught that there are winners and losers. But strong spiritual intelligence is found through unity.
Game Play Reflects Behavior
When Robert was a child, he learned about emotional intelligence by playing Monopoly® with his rich dad. Robert continued to focus his efforts on improving his emotional intelligence to become financially free at the age of 47.
What was the key to his success?
Gameplay!
Once he and Kim became financially free they developed the board game, CASHFLOW® 101.
Robert and Kim knew that the best way to learn (other than doing) was through simulation. By combining all four intelligence into the board game, they discovered the best way to teach people to face their fears about money and investing through gameplay.
Your Difference Is What Makes You A Genius

All my life I thought I was stupid... My parents , friends, teachers, cats all tells me this. After dropping out of elementary school I thought I couldn't amount to any success in life. This video made me realize that I've been wrong my whole life. I was just bored!!! After I found out the truth, I was able to channel my inner genius and make millions. YES. I was bored out of my freaking mind back in grade schools!!! I used to doodle all over my notebooks, test papers, my arm, hands, fingers, anything that had space for me to draw on I did. A couple teachers appreciated them, most didn't. As a result, I got really good at drawing and it's becoming one of my assets. School teaches you a set of beliefs that are outdated, untrue, disconnected, or simply useless. It teaches against critical thinking. School is NOT education. Memorizing a set of trivia you must believe in or else be punished is enslavement of the mind, the opposite of education.

I remember distinctly, one time my "health" teacher saw me doodling on my hand and made me go to the bathroom and wash everything off because in her words "You're old enough not to draw on yourself." Meanwhile she had a tattoo on her arm and one on the base of her neck... It was all just authoritarian bullshit back in school. I was mad because I really liked the design I was doodling at the time. haha

As a child I was told I was stupid many times and as a teen I was made to feel as though I was stupid. Today, I'm in the top 5% of income earners in Canada and I make my money legally. Turns out, I wasn’t so "stupid" after all. The education system fails more than it succeeds.

As a public elementary teacher in Canada for over 20 years, what Robert says about the education system is spot on. There are great teachers out there that do inspire and push the envelop of what an Informational age, not an industrial age education should look like, but alas they are far and few between. The education system will not change or evolve! The system is too large, and regulated to allow it to do so. Every teacher I have met and worked with only know how to be an employee. More than 90% of them have never really left the school system. The other side of the coin scares teachers, and is one of the underlying reasons for choosing this profession. Most of them want to be told what to teach and how to teach it. They love conformity and rarely question the orthodoxy of the day. If you are a parent, the best thing you can do to support your child's learning is to read Roberts first book to them, Rich Dad/Poor Dad. Discuss the other side of the coin with them, play Monopoly, and Cashflow with them and maybe then the educational system won't indoctrinate your child to stay on only one side of the coin. It is sad to say but with automation and AI evolving this decade, the education system will fail to help our youth navigate through what many say will be a turbulent time.

ADD, yes I was very bored!!! I had teachers call my parents very concerned because I was very creative and they thought I was on drugs at age ten. I am an author now, my first fantasy will be out in about October. On jobs I was bored to death, I learned the job, wrote a detailed manual and was bored stiff in six months. I will be selling inventions as soon as I have the finances to proceed to the next step. It has taken a long time to overcome the lies that were spoken into my life by family telling me how stupid I was. I now realize they were threatened by my creativity and intellect.

Thank you, I was labeled by my grade three teacher as having A.D.D. because I "was having difficulties with paying attention" and I used to daydream and look for other things that where more interesting . They even tried to put me on ridelyne to try to "correct my over active imagination" which was starving to stimulate my curiosities for more interesting things. To this day I have an inventive mind but stuggle to stay focused on following though with a goal until completion.

I still remember how afraid I was of failing a class in High School. Not only was it scary but it was embarrassing. When my kids are in HS I'm going to encourage them to take the same class twice, one in which they pass and the other they will deliberately fail. That way they can get over their fear of failure and realize that failure is a good teacher!

I love how Robert describes ADD, and you are so correct, not so long ago my son's teacher said something similar to his mother about him. After reading rich dad poor dad and watching your channel I realize that teachers really don't understand much if anything at all when it come to children and teaching them, my son gets bored very quickly, I realize that it's more about what is thought than anything else, I introduce he and his sister to monopoly for millennials and they just can't get enough.

I got pushed into the sciences because I was smart and kept me busy so I wouldn't be a problem child. An art teacher taught me how to see and be observant. The nuances of the skill observation wasn't learned where one would normally deduce a skill got learned but in another area of life. Having to draw still life every week for homework taught me how to see.

Throughout my years in elem, highschool and 1st year in college I wasnt the best student. in fact, I was actually failing some class. But eventually I was able to get the hang of the "school system" and end up being top of my class for the last 3 years but the moment i graduated and stepped out the "real world" did I realize how extremely useless being a top student is. It's like your setup to live a mediocre life once your employed. And people who were non-Ivy were actually doing better in real life. This is how much of a rip off the school system is. It's like a punishment for people. They aren't really making people intelligent but elitists. From the start I already questioned the school system but once I adjusted to get better grades it only reinforced my doubt of how flawed the system is.

Was labeled adhd in 3rd grade. All the way up until 12 grade. I made Bs and mostly Cs all through school. Looking back I dont regret it at all. What I learned through school was mostly useless. Besides the obvious english history and basic math and science. My counselor in highschool told me to my face I would never make it in life. My parents would be disappointed in me when they'd see my report card with all Cs on it. I'm 23. And I'm beginning to learn as much as I can about becoming financially educated. Iv never had so much thirst for anything. And I will prove many people wrong soon.

I appreciate how Robert Kiyosaki communicates his message, its very simple but deep wisdom at the same time, which is very beneficial. I was also a C and D student in traditional school, I didn't like school, because intuitively i knew a lot of what the teachers were teaching me wasn't going to be used in real life. I didn't know why the subjects in school was so easy for everyone else but it was hard for me. Fast forward years later after I finished school, I can say now I am way more successful now many years later than all the straight A students in my classes.

This has to be one of the most important videos that I have watched. I pulled my children out of school and started homeschooling them because they were diagnosed as dyslexic and having ADHD and they were falling further and further behind. The principal told me that statistics show that if children don’t catch up by the end of third grade then they never will. I pulled them out not knowing what I was going to do but knowing something had to change. I dropped out of school but was able to test out. We will play games. We will check back in. The point was that I had a deep seated insecurity about being stupid but this video made it click for me.

Hey Rober good day. It's all well and good to be explaining financial issues on a global scale, which includes the North American, Asian, European and so on. Which have quite a bit of similarities because of their size. Your information is very helpful and educational and you also make it very easy to understand and relatable to real world experience. However I am from the Caribbean where a lot of the information can't be appliedq like in North America. The opportunities are very limited to none existing in our environment. I started to watching some of your shows just like 2 weeks ago and they have been very informative. However when looking at economies around the world, have you ever looked at the Caribbean and am not talking about the greater Antilles. I am talking more about the Lesser Antilles I would really like to see how you would navigate our economy with the knowledge that you have gained over the years. (What are your thoughts????)

I am from the Caribbean myself and in the Caribbean tends to be divisive with respect to class and the emphasis is on academic achievement and we fail to teach our youth the important of entrepreneurial thinking. Let me address your situation specifically as what I think are the steps for you to be successful in Nevis, Barbuda or wherever you are from: 1. Start acquiring your financial education. You can do this in any number of ways through self study, mentor ship or traditional methods. It doesn’t matter how you acquire it, but do it in a way that works for your and you’re learning style 2. Start thinking globally. Sometimes we need to leave our environs to achieve the success or the quality of life you want, and to thoroughly be educated. It changes your perspective and may allow you to see untapped opportunities for business in your county 3. Reject untested theories and ideologies and traditions that do not work 4. Thoroughly study your countries market and be smart and humble enough the seek the advice of people a smarter than you no matter how much you may not be able to stand them. 5. Stop telling everyone your goals, sooner or later someone will steal your ideas 6. Connect with successful business people in your country and keep your ego in check 7. Dress for success and conduct yourself accordingly and develop a mantra 8. Stop worrying about what other people think of you, because every human being has a measure of God Given Genius. The trouble is having the courage to unlock it and not evaluating your genius relative to that of others 9. Put your faith and trust not in man, but in the most High God. Without spiritual intelligence and connection success is impossible 10. Do not live your life in fear, spend considerable time planning and make your execution quick and efficient while always being vigilant

I am a teacher. Many students now days do not care about learning. If a learner is eager then they should be able to learn from what ever source is delivering the information. I am teaching an elective class called "Think and Grow Rich" My students are learning about many different financial principles and strategies.. I am an investor in real estate. I am creating passive income for myself and teaching others to do the same, if they want to listen and learn.

Interesting, I thought about the school system and how it makes you feel as an individual and its pretty similar to how Mr. Kiyosaki puts it. Besides have 4 different intelligences, I define what's intelligent, what is it to be smart or what is a genius? Most people mix up being intelligent and smart or all 3. Being intelligence is based on your speed of perception, how quickly your mind works to solve problems. Being smart is equivalent to being an subject matter expert. Knowing a lot about something makes you smart on that subject. And genius is simply having new thoughts. If it hasn't been thought of by anyone it's pure genius. Taking something old and making new is also genius. Again new thoughts make a genius.
