Individual men are cut off from the tree Man. We do not have Man Teaching but ‘the teacher’; we do not have Man Leading but ‘the politician’; we do not have Man thinking, but the scholar hole’d up in his closet! the philosopher, the pedant. First we are men and women, let us be that first. Let us not forget that the clothes DO NOT make the man. The labcoat does not make the scientist. We must be reconnected to the Man, to the humanity within us, to the humanity that we are.
