Great video. Thumbnail and title really got me to click, because the stats on boundless just make so much sense, but you made a really good case. I always built inhibitor on warden, but I'm definitely going to build it more on infernus, and maybe some other chars too. 35% is insane - I feel like 25% makes more sense, but we'll see what they do.

I've been theory crafting builds non stop for this game for a week now i think I've spent minimum 16 hours just on the build guides for each character, after i finish i go through and look at what everyone else is doing. i will say you're 100% right on inhibitor and healing booster being extremely over tuned on this character. I've added Shadow weave to my build based on your feedback as well. i hadn't considered it being as strong as it is for infernus.

I was about to throw the towel on Infernus, if I wanted pure "gun dps" characters there are better options and same deal for pure spirit damage, we have options that can deal damage faster and at longer ranges. But having this more bruiser with sustain build allows you to actually take full advantage of your entire kit without sacrificing your damage, in theory a glass cannon boundless spirit build has more damage but in practice is not possible to sit close to the frontline without anyone touching you so constantly need to be moving and stop firing to re position.

With all of that life steal, more damage from Boundless = more healing (more survivability). It's not an item you're meant to rush but buying it later can give incredible value I think it's a little underestimated.

its an item thats overestimated. other items will increase your survivability 10x more. the damage you will gain just does not suffice. very few heroes actually like this item

How do you feel about the upgrade from Mystic Vulnerability to Escalating Exposure? It's +3% spirit pen, +9% spirit resist, 125 health, and the spirit amp. You get at least a few stacks of the amp from your Dash/Catalyst combo, but I think it might really shine in pre-fight poking if you can keep your dot rolling on someone. Obviously competing with the other late game damage items like Crippling Headshot and Ricochet. I will also say that I find a mid-game Headhunter is nice. At some point not far into mid-game, the headshot booster doesn't really matter, and weirdly that effect is part of Headhunter which builds from High-Velocity Mag. The velocity seems to be nice for poking (or maybe I just haven't gotten good at leading bullets yet) and the speed boost is pretty significant; plus Fleetfoot, you are flying while shooting.

i do have a section where i speak about escalating, it is also timestamped in the description, headshot booster is also sold for fleetfoot later too (also say this in the video). for headhunter, i dont really think its too good for infernus at all, hes not a burst damage hero so the extra headshot damage wont really improve his ttk all that much lategame and he already has plenty of healing from spirit damage. high velocity definitely felt good when i tried it, but headshot boosters poke damage in lane is too valuable.

I know the character is not popular, but i do enjoy McGinnis. Then again i prefer engineer in team fortress 2. What i enjoy the most about infernus is to apply the burn damage and have them die from the dot.

Hi, thanks again for this video. It has taught me a lot (brand new player). I have been using it a lot today. I have a few questions if you have time: - With quicksilver reload i was wondering how u use it to get the optimal use out of it. Usually when i use 1 (commit to attacking enemies) my clip is already fully and I apply 1 first to get the dmg amp. But by the time my 2 and 4 has finished and I start shooting, i've already used the 1 and don't didn't get the instant reload benefit, and when im out of bullets in the fight 1 is already on cd for like 20sec). Am I missing something or using it wrong? - Does the DoT (3) apply on the secondary players hit by ricochet? - if selling 500 soul items (cuz u need just a LITTLE bit more souls to get an expensive item), what is the general priority order you'd sell? - Out of interest, what do you think of the top ranked builds for infernos vs yours? is there any any key differences that you like/dislike tHANKS!

with quicksilver reload, apply your dot and shoot first, and then use your 1 and keep spraying for more consistent damage. ricochet applies afterburn yes sell headshot booster and enduring spirit top ranked infernus builds are all worse imo, they focus too much on damage when his damage doesnt scale well after the first initial small investments.

@@ParadiseArcadia shadow weave is an item i would build if i am not behind, its very hard to get value from this item when behind as then you should be focusing more on survivability. when i am ahead is when i like to build shadow weave, its a huge power increase and will allow me to keep stomping / ganking the enemy. but even then, sometimes when ahead at this point in the build you might be struggling to carry as you are getting focused super hard, and then i would skip it and just go for survivability.

Hi Smeefu, for infernus 1v1, after you hit them with the flame dash, do you cancel it early and shoot them or continue running around and into them? Not sure which I should do, also does shooting them give you tons of lifesteal too cause flame dash might be cancelled sometimes.

this is pretty much completely based on the situation. dont have ammo? continue flame dash the hero might be able to escape continue flame dash you will go to deep if you keep dashing, cancel and shoot etc etc

Boundless spirit: gives +300 bonus health and 2 sprint speed, and the largest flat spirit bonus "All I am getting from this is damage" lol. The flat 300 from boundless spirit gave you 100 more health than the 20% from shadow weave when you sold it and bought weave to show the difference. Just sell the infuser late and buy boundless if it's a long game

yes this is true, boundless gives health too, however the point is that for the price of boundless you can afford Weave + a 3k vitality item, or inhibitor + a 3k vitality and so on, just better value across the board. and of COURSE im gonna sell infuser for boundless after i have bought every thing in this video in like a 60 minute game! im just stressing that its the absolute last thing i would ever buy :)

I agree that boundless is good but i think earlier in game you might get greater value by buying something quick thatll get your level up and you can snowball more

Another thing to keep in mind is that the 300 hp you get from boundless isn't scaled. 20% base health is usually larger in an actual game where you are picking up golden idol buffs.

pocket does fall off, thats just how he is. endgame he becomes basically an ult bot and squishy killer. its the reason many people agree he is not S tier but just below, as he does fall off lategame naturally

I've seen your responses to the people bringing up spiritual overflow, but it seems to me that you're not taking the numbers into account. given the number of green items you're already stacking, the extra health on shadow weave is nice but not strictly necessary, while the choice in their bespoke effects is between an only slightly more potent active on a 45s cooldown, vs a passive that's going to get applied along with everything else - and you get more lifesteal on top, which is the bedrock of survivability on the character once you've ruled out being bursted down (and the fire rate is also passive albeit naturally smaller). I'm not saying you should always pick one over the other but I think it should be recognized that spiritual overflow *does* scale better very late game for general use, but if you haven't got titanic mag and/or you want to be able to gank better, shadow weave might be the option. not even mentioning it seems weird

it does, but shadow weave doesn’t instantly stealth you + when people are in range they can see your outline so it’s pretty useless for that
