First time watcher, just have to say your take on social media these days is 100% correct. Very sad to see, and I don't hear many people talking about it. Great video though! I've been looking at buying a new guitar, and was curious about the types of woods.

@@MikesKZbinLink Firm handshakes Mike🤝🏼 Thanks for hanging out here! I actually have experience helping others selecting guitars as well as buying a bunch myself. Any questions or anything I can help with?

Read a book?? Those are written by 'experts' - and you know we can't trust them! They're just trying to push an agenda. Good video. Rational video. Bad for 'engagement' video! The one extra thing I'd throw in is, as you said, the most important thing for making your guitar sound good (as a hobbyist), is practicing. And if that sweet pillow maple finish on your PRS makes you connect to it and love it and want to practice and play more, then I would say that helped more than anything it did to 'the tone' of it.

@@findle70 bad for engagement video indeed😂 Totally agree with what you said about anything that would make someone want to practice more🤝🏼 BTW, Merry Christmas from mine to yours pal! Wish you blessed one!🎄🎁

The resonance of tonewood is part of the sound of a guitar. More so in an acoustic but, still it does have some effect on electric guitar. More important is the quality and construction of all the components of the instrument.

If you play it with clean sound, I believe the tonewood would much effect to the output. But it is an electric guitar, there is no way you would get that exactly clean sound. There are so many factors that affect to the guitar sound than the wood. The contact surface of the cable plug even do more to the sound. Imagine your cable does not plugged properly and then your guitar sounds horrible.
