The more you read the bible spend time in the word like you spend with a friend the more you will come to" know" him and as you come to "know" him [thru spending time in his word] You will sense his presence in your life and you will realize that you have become "close" to him but that closeness is dependent on you being consistent in reading and prayer (like you can only "stay" wet (while) in the water so you can only be close to Christ as you "stay"in him in the word hold his word close to your heart and you will "naturally" be in love with him and that closeness is like the air you breathe like each breath you take you dont need to work on being close just stay in rhe word ,pray and fellowship with fellow christians .

that "something," is a demonic attack. the only way to "break through" is to force yourself into prayer. one good way to start is to put on old hyms and just start listening and singing those lyrics and naturally you'll start to "feel" yourself closer to God and then prayer will come into your heart through The Holy Spirit. since you are having demonic oppression (in a terrible analogy) it would be like forcing yourself to go for a run/jog/gym/etc. it almost seems impossible to do that thing u need to do but as u force yourself to do it, u start to enjoy it and get blessings through it. the problem is that, since we cant see demons, we dont realize they r the ones hindering us. if all seems lost, u can quote Jesus - Get behind the Lord satan. say it with boldness. the more frequent u do this, the eaiser it will be to pray & READ your Bible.
