You know when I was 5 years old, 2 cement workers sat down on the hot concrete step having their lunch...each had a quart of milk with their sandwiches... every day in that hot glorious summer days in Memphis tn. We were buddies.....there was nothing but real friendship between us....2 hard working black gentlemen and one 5 year old white boy. Bonded that summer..now that I’m 82 old yr. old white guy.....know something their both in my nightly Prayers...my 2 buddies.

At the funeral of my beautiful wife of 60 years, her two children and me stood by her casket side as this song played throughout the parlor. It signified our love and devotion to her. For anyone who didn't grow up listening to her...this is what REAL singing is about. She is quite gifted. Nobody is in her class.

After 60 years of marriage I lost my lovely wife, on September 9th 2013, a victim of cancer. This song was played as my children and myself stood at her casket and each word tore at our hearts. The song , I know, was carried to heaven with her soul.

Hello Bob, sorry for your lost. If you're familiar with John 5:28,29 you will find that there will be a resurrection of loved one's that have died. There are NO souls in heaven as blood and flesh can't enter into heaven. God (Psalms 83:18) promises a paradise under one Government according to (Daniel 2:44) headed by His Son Jesus Christ with sickness & death won't exist as brought out in Revelation 21:3,4. Many people have the misunderstanding that "all good people go to heaven" but there is NO SCRIPTURE in the bible to support that. So if you know of anyone saying that.............have them show you where it's at in the scriptures because I can't find it.

Hello Bob, your last comment regarding her soul in heaven. There's no scripture that says souls are in heaven / Blood and flesh can't enter into heaven / again as I've said in my last comment. . .John 5:28,29 talks about a resurrection here on earth of family members that have died. Sickness & death will be gone as brought out in Revelation 21:3,4. That song by Glady Knight is not playing in heaven as you've brought out. Sorry for your grief but it's short lived as death will soon come to an end. It's all written in the bible. Anything contrary to that isn't written or supported in the God's (Psalms 83:18) word the bible.

Contessa Dent The tears did flow profusely but they were so real and calmed my heart as I looked at her beautiful face and recalled all of the wonderful moments of those 60 years of our lives

herman peal Thanks for you comments. I am agnostic and belief in a place called heaven is not in my conversations. But my reference to "Heaven" is only because my wonderful wife was a devout Catholic and all through her beautiful life she professed her belief that when she passed she would join all of those she loved who passed before her I her in her heaven.

I loved Miss Aretha (God rest her soul) BUT Miss Gladys is the "Queen of Soul" to me! Her songs got my mom through some hard times as her angelic voice reaches down & touches your soul! She sings with her vocal strength yet ends with a smoothe ending! She's beautiful & every song is sends a message, with "The Pips" getting their groove on!👠🎙🎼🎶
