I like that story about narcissus at the end. I have a "secret" story of Narcissus that I saw in the story of Persephone. One day while gathering flowers, she leans in to look at a narcissus (the flower), and then a hand pops up out of the ground to snatch her down into the underworld, where she goes through Hell to become a queen. Persephone shows the antidote to narcissism. We are lured in by the beauty in the narcissist, but it's a trap! Being wounded (kidnapped! violated!) by the narcissist forces us to do the underworld work to grow up at a deeper level than most and maybe develop some superpowers along the way.

You are very correct both of my parents were unable to be parents they had me at 12 years old as the housecleaner and the babysitter and to be very very grateful we had food to eat and a roof over our heads.
