Graham Taylor OBE became a player for Grimsby Town in 1963 and Lincoln City in 1968, retiring through injury in 1972. The son of a sports journalist, Graham found his love of football in the stands of the Old Show Ground watching Scunthorpe United. He is the former Chairman of Watford Football Club and still holds position of honorary life-president. The former football pundit and player became the manager of the England national football team from 1990 to 1993. He resigned in 1994 after failing to qualify for the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States. He currently works as pundit for BBC Radio Five Live.

I had the privilege of meeting and having dealings with Graham Taylor OBE 7/ 8 years ago . I can’t speak highly enough of him. He was a Top Bloke. Thoroughly Decent Man. It upsets me he no longer with us. God Bless Ya GT.

Taylor here points to the fact that he came back and he did to an extent helping Watford back up, but I always felt his talents as a manager should have been utilised by one of the top clubs. He came back in at Villa for a short period but i just felt a top club should have come in and said "here is some money, this is a 5 year project and we want you at the helm" he deserved that backing in my view. It didn't work out for him at England and there were many factors behind that, but as a club manager, Taylor was a great and talented manager.

I like Graham Taylor the man and excellent club coach, as an international coach I think the FA had little choice at the time and maybe a little too much for Graham but he had talent at league level.
