YOU ARE THE WOMAN | THE ROBERTS MEISNER BAND, RANDY MEISNER, CARY PARK, RICK ROBERTS, RON GRINNEL, BREA GHILIA

That guy was so rude to Randy, kept cutting him off every time he spoke and Randy wasn't even saying much. All he wanted to talk about was The Eagles getting back together and to ask a gotcha question about why Randy left the band. He cut him off before Randy got to say they were still on good terms. I really think Glenn Frey liked working with Randy but he was too influenced by Henley. Its amazing how that guy was even in that job since he had no skill at interviewing. I have to give Randy credit for keeping a smile on his face. I'm sure his midwestern politeness had alot to do with it. And when he asked him if he would get back with The Eagles what did he expect him to say. My opinion is that Randy started drinking to cope with his shyness and stage fright and then it became a bad habit. He could get into the groove if he had a few. I think he did the right thing for himself when he left the band even though it was very painful for us fans. Some people just don't have the constitution for the tour grind. ❤Randy❤

Agree about the 'interviewer'. Never understood how that guy got the job. Scary. So good to hear and see Randy. He is class and graciousness as well as a one-of-a-kind talent.

I saw the Roberts Meisner band twice in small clubs. The people in the audience were so gracias and grateful to see both Rick and Randy. Especially, Randy. He’d sing Take it to the limit or try and love again and the audience was simply in awe. Amazing talent.

"Oh Randy - even though you didn't like the spotlight (and what a geek interviewer asking you about the Eagles when you were on stage with this band - albeit briefly) didn't you move so beautifully with the rhythm of the music while singing harmony and playing bass? This was not the band for you but 11 years on from leaving the Eagles, at 42 years you still looked gorgeous and never lost your talent, your sweetness nor your humility. What a treasure!"

This ticked me off also. He could have focused on why they were there. Everyone knew where Randy was from. Would like to know what Rick was saying to Randy while Ralph doing commercial. Prob pissed. Looked so beautiful & sexy still. ❤️ Will always b remembered...

Poor Ralph Emery. I feel sorry that he so offended Jim McGuinn and Gram Parsons that the world got the song 'Drug Store Truck Driving Man,' but then I see or hear something like this, and I know that Mr. Emery apparently remained oblivious to how trivially dull he often seemed and how insulting he could be.

When the Byrds were in their country phase ,Emery was then an influential DJ at Nashville C/W radio station WSM. ..... The Byrds were in Nashville recording Sweetheart of the Rodeo at the time ... and one night, after a recording session, Roger Mcguinn and Gram Parsons headed over to WSM with some promotional singles from Sweetheart .... , they intended to give WSM an " exclusive" ; listeners would hear not only new Byrds music but the band taking things in a completely different direction -- " Stone cold Country" as Mcguinn put it ..... But Emery didn't consider the Byrds to be an "authentic " Country band and refused to play the promotional singles Mcguinn and Parsons had brought along , instead Emery began grilling the two musicians about the "status " of their draft eligibility .....

Ralph Emory was never known for doing any research on guests on his show. It would have been so easy for him to learn what NOT to ask Randy. He had Chris Hillman on his show once and said, "So how is Gram (Parsons) now days?" "Still dead, Ralph."

Back in the 70's I was in the sauna at a health spa in Boulder CO. The door opened and a guy I recognized as Chris Hillman of Byrds fame came in with a guy he introduced as Rick Roberts. They both said they were trying to get Rick cleaned up from too much partying. Rick was frontman for a new band named Firefall and A & R executives would be checking out the band to see if it was worthy of a recording contract. In the hot, hot sauna Chris was pouring ice cold water on Rick to sober him up -- and having him sniff herbal concoctions to clean his sinuses out from too much party powder. Chris told Rick: "Party after you get the recording deal -- not before." I guess it worked because I heard a record company signed Firefall to a contract.
