Drew Carey taught himself how to do stand up from a book (more than one? not sure) he got from the Cleveland Public Library. I don’t know which one but I’m sure that’s mentioned somewhere in interviews/articles online. (and “fun fact’ on a charity game show Carey won, he then donated his winnings to the Cleveland PL). Point is it can be learned. I don’t know much about the craft of standup but it seems your brand and personality would lend itself to that format. Anyway, remember bombing is an essential part of the process esp. early on. Start in a small town bar! 😁 to get your feet wet maybe. For inspiration, watch the movie “The Godfather of Green Bay”. Great movie and brilliant standup how-to tips. 😄😄😄 Also your and Berens’ humor are very compatible with the humor of that film. As for writing a set, try coming up with things little bit by bit throughout the day every day - much like how you need to think about ideas for KZbin and podcast content. And on that note, Here’s an idea for podcast content: you and Ryan review the movie “The Godfather of Green Bay”. 😁 I’d actually like a review of the early 2000’s ski hijinks movie “Out Cold” as well (something I think you’d also like and a classic ‘round this time of year).
