I know I don't usually post videos on here unless they're AMVs but I feel like this is something that everyone needs to talk about, regardless of whether or not you're a fan of Shinee or even just Kpop in general.
I don't even know where to begin. When I heard about his passing I was just shocked. I just couldn't believe it. I honestly thought it was a hoax, but then the confirmation from SM just solidified the truth for me, and that was that. He's gone.
I actually used to listen to Shinee a lot when I was in middle school, especially since a friend of mine was also a huge fan at the time (I think she still is but I don't really know for sure since we don't really keep in contact anymore) and both of us bonded over them. One of my favourite songs from their first album (or at least one of their first albums) was Jonghyun's solo Hyeya, which is a Korean cover of the Spanish song Y Si Fuera Ella. The stage performance of Hyeya in one of their concert DVDs (which is also in this video) was even better. From the raw emotion seen through his facial expressions, to the stage props with the cuts to a music video and all of the blood, it was just perfect. I quickly fell in love with that performance and, to this day, it's still one of my favourites of all time.
Just hearing about someone suffering from depression all this time without anyone else knowing is just so tragic. I can only imagine how ... lonely it must have felt, how alone he truly was. How helpless he seemed. Music appeared to be his outlet, maybe even his cry for help. It's pretty apparent with several of the songs he had composed (for either himself or other artists). And it's just heartbreaking. We can't deny that there's still some stigma surrounding the discussion of mental health, especially within the entertainment industry, like being depressed, or anxious, etc. isn't real - even though, obviously, it is. Otherwise, this wouldn't have happened.
He may no longer be with us, nor be able to compose and write amazing, inspirational, and encouraging songs, nor perform on stage with his band members, but he'll never be forgotten. He's left that big of an impact on a lot of people out there, and I'm honestly so proud of how far he had made it, though I wish he was able to hold on a little longer.

Jonghyun was everyones favorite the king of vocals the king of kindness every idol out there loved him, he is handsome, talented, kind everything. He was hiding every little pain of himself so well even his own members and closest friends couldnt even tell his pain. He tried asking for help secretly but no one helped, no one noticed, its like everyone acted as if sadness didnt exists in this sinful world. Hes helped every fan, every idol go through there ups and downs. He dated the girl of his dreams but guess what? WE CALL OURSELVES FANS? BEFORE HE DATED A GIRL AND IF YOU LOOK AT THEM PICTURES. HE LOOKED SO HAPPY WITH HER HE LOOKED AT HER WITH SO MUCH LOVE BUT BECAUSE OF US. HE HAD TO LEAVE HER BECAUSE FANS WASENT SATISFIED AND WAS BEING GREEDY SAYING "OPPA YOU SAID YOU LOVED US ONLY! I still can't listen to SHINee. The pain is still fresh. They were the ones who got me into kpop. I'll never forget the amazing 5 years. I remember how u said that he loved us. I remember not celebrating Christmas because I was grieving still. I remember every little detail. I remember waking up to the worst day in kpop history. I remember thinking please this can't be real. I remember watching his last Instagram stream and how I knew something was wrong but I didn't think that that was gonna happen. It's still so sad for me.. I don't listen to them (only know few Taemin songs) but my friends do and when I heared about it it was sad for me. And then my friend start telling me about their bond in Shinee... And it was so beautiful.. For me it's so sad.. I can't understand how rest of Shinee must feel.. And if for me it's that sad.. I am just happy that i got to admire him since debut and am still sad that he is gone but it is unfortunate that some truly didn’t recognise his beautiful soul until he left this world . During this time more than ever i have been reminiscing over all that he did in his life and i still cry like i did in that day but he is an angel now that looks over us and resides within our hearts. I am so thankful that i got to see him shine in the short time he was here with us and i hope that for all the lives he made brighter, he can rest in peace and not face the struggles that he silently suffered with while he was living. Already more than 4 months passed without our angel but it doesn't feel like 4 months. It feels like he died a few days ago and his birthday was just yesterday. That's how I feel.
