Another nice build! And I'm happy to hear your feeling better. No one wants to deal with a pain in the neck!

Thank you very much, feeling pretty much back to normal “knock on wood” ;)

Seems like a very elegant design. I do like the white paint finish but completely agree painting all of those sides can be a big pain in the butt.

I love the shelf. And I also learned how to make a cleat for the back. I’ve been buying metal French Cleat for my 3ft wide coat racks that I’ve made for family. You do wonderful work.

Great to see you Winnie and great job!! I agree with the painting aspect. I just finished making a large picture frame for a co-worker and a pantry for my wife. I emailed you some pictures from my recent projects.

Hi Cliff; happy long weekend! Sounds like you got some fun projects on the go. I’ll have to check out that email you sent me. Thanks for sharing.

I wish I had all of those tools but it does look like this could be made with a skill saw. Great video and thanks for sharing!

I recently completed a child's desk for a friend and she wanted it painted white. Like you, I do not want to paint wood ever again. I used poplar and some plywood. It turned out ok but I wish I was able to use a sprayer and get a smoother, more even finish. a very good roller worked very well but it was more time and work than expected. Nice project for your daughter!

Oh hand painting is so much “fun”. To be honest, I do have a sprayer, but even the sprayer is a pain bringing out, as it needs cleaning following, and I have to set up the room so I don’t get paint everywhere else so I think the easiest solution is just not painting at all 😂😂😂

Great idea and looks stylish. If you make another, you may think of recessing the the French cleat and the standout board at the bottom from the sides. This will give it a clean shadow line all the way around. It seems wide enough so that it should not affect the stability. My annual job is producing my "Useless Wooden Christmas Gift" for my three sons families. You can read into that what you want but they do appreciate them every year. Keep the good stuff comin'. Your time is much appreciated. JimE

Thank our for sharing. Wonderful video. How do you go about cutting a board in half where you have two equal 45 degree cleats.
@standishwoodstory2 ай бұрын
You just need to make one 45 degree cut; then both sides of the wood will match perfectly and you can cut to size following.

I don't have a router (yet:) so would the screws and glue be enough to hold the shelves in place, while providing enough strength to act as a display for Lego creations?
@standishwoodstory2 ай бұрын
Yes for Lego you should be fine with just glue and screws:) if you’re worried at all, about weight you could also add L-brackets below.
