As to the scaling at the beginning of everything... Just include a high quality ruler (scale) in your photo/scan, that's sitting at the same elevation as the surface you're trying to make a gasket for. Which if you're just trying to copy a gasket is pretty easy! Then you can calibrate off of that and not have to worry about holes having rough edges, etc. Zoom right in on the ruler, and you can easily nail it right on the line. Longer the ruler you can fit in your picture the better!

Going to attempt this in inventor. Only thing is inventor exports as a dxf versus svg. I’m guessing because they are both autodesk products I could get the add in for inventor as well for svg?
