What a great tutorial!!! For the lightpen tracing the core of the neon sign, I would suggest to turn off all the taper and size/flow variation from pressure, as there should be no thickness variation for the neon tubes. Just my thoughts.

I recommend using a "darker" color for your sign, like the purple Flo used, dark blue, etc. At first I tried neon green and then light blue...you could hardly see the "light tubes" since the color was already so bright. Enjoy :)
