When I seen the show as a little kid I remember it like you do (all black with the red strip), but since almost every replica I see has the grey up top I'm not going to say it's incorrect. I only talk what I know and that show was on a loooooong time ago.

Many people had this wrong memory - it’s called “the mandela effect” Grey on the top is correct, you can watch every original episode again - but 95% of us had the memory that it was all black with the red strip :D

Amar Bosanac The way you put that is like we don't remember stuff properly, which isn't the Mandela Effect. just because you look back at old footage and see the 3tone doesn't mean that it hasn't changed, In my reality it was all black with a red stripe, so yes it is the so-called Mandelo Effect AND it has changed in My reality, 100% That being said in Knight Rider where was kittts audio spec console middle of the dash or above the steering thingy?!

It always had the "gun barrel grey" for the top colour. Earlier tv's just couldn't get the colour tone quite right, that's probably the cause for this particular "Mandela effect."
