Hi Matt, the hook and pull shot are extremely similar. the main difference in the height that the delivery meets the batter at. Hook shot is generally between chest and head height and inline with the body, pull shot is between hips and chest from inline to slightly outside the line of the body. Yes - I’ve been thinking about this as well; I can watch the ball on to the bat with slower bowlers, but not pace bowlers, but as a result I “lose” the ball and have to guess where it’s going to end up.

Hey there, no its not too late, cricket is timeless. If your goal is to become decent enough to help your team win and play with mates, that's completely do-able👌 Just break it down into small improvement goals, then it doesn't seem that difficult.
