That’s so true. I turned from God when my first marriage failed. I felt so betrayed and disillusioned with God that I turned to the world and had fifteen years of happiness until suddenly, out of nowhere the storms, the tornadoes and hurricanes hit and threw me into utter despair until I cried out to God again. I thank God now for the trouble and pain He caused (or allowed), because now I realised where I went wrong. God is so gracious and patient with us, forgiving all our trespasses if we truly repent.

I can definitely relate to what you’re saying. I'm going through a similar "storm" right now. Because I had back slidden bad and I knew better. God needed to open my eyes by taking one of the people in my life "away" that I love so much. I can now relate to how God must've felt when I was away from Him. So He needed to get my attention. It's a scary and humbling experience, especially when you know what's happening and you can't do anything about it, but pray and ask for forgiveness. Even though I don’t know you, but I am certain we are both a child of God, that’s all that matters. I said a prayer for you and your wife, may the storm you went through be over now. @@XxPsycoB3ASTxX thanks, Jordan. God is good and will bring us through the hard times safely if we hold on to Him. The reason why my marriage failed was in part also to blame on the church because we went through much abuse. I blamed God but really it was people that caused the harm and I should not have given up on Him. Yet even when we’re unfaithful, God is faithful and will not stop loving us and believing in us. He is patient and sees the pain we’re in. He will give us joy for ashes, and ashes are exactly what remains when we went through a period of the cleaning fire. We need to die to self, only then can we experience the joy and pleasure of our new creation. Our focus has to shift from self to God, from seeking our happiness to the happiness of others. I pray for you that you might experience the joy of the Lord like you never experienced before and that His blessing be with you. All that the enemy has stolen will be returned to you seven times over.
