I own an original watercolour of this artist. His paintings are sold in selected galleries across the UK, even in Harrods. His colour palette matches the UK landscape very well. Thank you for your wisdom, your elm try is lacking amongst other things.

Many thanks, I enjoyed watching this. I have a friend who lives in Hickling, a village where Alwyn once lived. My friend and his family knew both Alwyn and his wife, also an artist. They are lucky enough to have some of his paintings. As far as I know Alwyn is still around, living in Mundesley, Norfolk, England. I happen to live in the nearby village of Ludham, the one time home to Edward Seago. Reading his books during the Covid lock down, inspired me to take up watercolour painting. Thanks again for the review.

I am glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for taking the time to relaying that interesting story. It really is a small world. I met a co-author of a favorite science book of mine in a little town near me in the blue ridge mountains of Virginia just by accident and in conversation.

Great job! A book review with completed exercises ending with a human-interest story. Did you follow up with another one of his lesson books? Cinematography is an art in itself. If you have vehicle and the gas, drive!

No, I have not done one of his lesson books. I have seen a book of his on landscape drawing that I should get. Thanks for the comment.

Just found this book in the thrift store and am reading it now. I was curious about the author and found this review. Were you new to watercolors and a beginner? If so I am impressed and looking forward to getting to the animal section, once I complete the previous chapters. Just curious

@@tsheffield5973 Sorry for not replying sooner as your message slipped by me. I would consider myself a beginner before starting the book. I made a couple of half hearted attempts at a painting in the past that did not go anywhere. Going through the book was much more than I ever did in the past. I was a bit obstinate and determined to complete the whole book and not to skip a bunch of material. I would recommend the same for you. It sounds like you are most interested in animals but doing everything will give you a lot of experience handling the paint and mixing colors. Have fun and let me know your progress!!!
