I guess that's why Steam implemented the 10 days cooldown where a skin will only show up in your inventory after 10 days, so skins will expire after 7 days and there won't be some scammer out there showing they have skins on their inventory when they don't

imagine u could rent skins over community market. valve could hardcode it to make it impossible to scratch stickers, couldnt put them into trade ups and so on. like some sites offer, but they could make it instant and also even per game. so u could offer f.e. an ak empress for 1$ per game or 5$ a week, while the owner has no risk, could even play with the skin till the moment someone rents it.

only people who are gonna mad about this are investors and traders (and scammers ofc as they can no longer scam them with inheritance or chrome cannon😅 imo) because they want to make the most money out of it and it is good for new players because it they want to try some skins they can just simply rent them and play and be happy no loss (instead of opening a case and geting 0.03$ skin) so win win for valve and the player if he likes can buy them for money if he wants to own them

I cant wait for 'seasonal' skins now, or a battle pass, where you get to rent the skin for the duration of the pass if you dont want to pay for the premium pass.. This feature existing will give Valve the chance to implement seasonal skins for easter or christmas etc to use temporarily :D

I feel the potential problem is instead of being a rare skin, any jackass with a couple bucks can equip the AK Inheritance in matchmaking. I'm not sure if it'll outweigh the case supply before the kilowatt skins just become so lame and played out.
