Same! Most of the time I'd just take a whatever photo of my buddy to get the heart but sometimes I'd put actual effort in and it was fun. Now if I'm in my own house, it doesn't recognise any of my surfaces as flat - including the floor, a desk, and a table. So I can't even take a photo of my buddy at home.

You put a clip of a Mew at the beginning and guess what: Mythical Pokemon encounters with AR are NO LONGER POSSIBLE ANYMORE. They only work with the original AR, not AR+ (except Zarude) Edit: and recently, the second Poipole works with AR+

I just came back to Pokemon GO from a few years' break, and let me tell you, the game is better than when I left. It has only gotten better over the years. In the beginning, AR mode never worked on my phone. Now it works! That's an improvement in my book.

I loved using AR mode to get cool pictures of catching pokemon in interesting locations. I once found and caught a blastoise near Tower Bridge, I think that was the best pokemon go screenshot I ever had. Never saw another blastoise near there again and since it’s such an iconic landmark too it looked like a scene from an old monster movie

Hold the berry bag and drag it out a little as you throw the ball, click “Run” and if you caught the mon, it’ll be in your inventory, if you didn’t catch it and broke out. It will still be clickable on the main screen with the avatar walking and you just have to throw another ball to catch it. Speed catching is what I call this especially on community days it comes in very handy.

This update has really slowed down my spotlight hour. I used to have AR turned on just to shiny check and turn it back on to catch a shiny or decent CP mon. Sadly can no longer do this so am having to linger to check clusters when I'd rather just keep walking. I do like being able to interact with my buddy faster when AR+ settings are turn off though.

Idk if this is just cuz I have a 3 year old phone, but now that they've added different effects in the background of the catching screen, based on what event is currently happening, my framerate for when I'm trying to catch a Mon is so so so slow and AR mode improved the framerate so much. Now that it's gone and the stupid different backgrounds are still there, my frame rate is so slow and changing the settings doesn't do anything at all. So it sucks :/

I was severely affected by it I can’t check things as fast as I used to. I play for shinnies and I used the old AR mode to fast check or quick catch things it was faster and much more efficient. And I tried to switch over to get an expert handler on a galarian moltres with AR+ and it screwed me out of catching it bc the game froze. It was literally 43 cp I could catch without master ball if AR+ would’ve let me in

You have AR+ activated and then it won’t work. Deactivate the AR mode in settings, separate one for your buddy. Then it should work just as before, by tapping the AR slider.
