Im a 29 year old mama to two toddlers. High tunnel growing, growing all of our vegetables, meat, and dairy. We use the grocery store for bulk items (flour, sugar, etc.) It has took several years to get to the point we are, and all along the way you have guided me Danny. I truly wake up every Tuesday with excitement for porch talks. Your like a father, grandfather, friend, and pastor all in one. Thank you for your message today, and all the days in the past and future ❤

I have been trying to order my high tunnel from growers solutions and still can’t get them to send me a quote. Can you recommend what to use for irrigation and the kinds of fans to get. I’m getting a 20x20. I figured some of it out, but that’s all I’m still trying to figure out. Any suggestions would be greatly recommended 🥰 I was told growers solutions would help you with all of it, but haven’t got them to respond back and we have called multiple times. Lady on the phone said couple things, but said other lady would call or email with the quote, but absolutely nothing.

A powerful message this morning!! Thank you!! What's also sad is that some people won't even take advantage of preparing when goods are offered for free. For example, I have about 45 hens that are laying like crazy (2-3 dozen a day). Even most of the OLDER gals are producing, and I attribute that to the Lord's goodness. So apart from giving away fresh eggs, which people eagerly accept, I've also been freeze-drying 6 or 7 dozen at a time for long-term storage. Sadly, most of the bags (Mylar and oxygen absorbers) are not taken to be stored by folks who don't have chickens. It's been this way for weeks. So, I've decided to just add them to my stores and use them, if necessary, for myself and my animals. Folks, if you are offered free items to put away for more difficult times, please take advantage of the opportunity!! It is a blessing to help others, and you don't know who you'll be helping down the road!! Danny and Wanda, I feel like you are my neighbors across the hayfield! God bless you!!

Maybe it's a foreign concept to them and they haven't the foggiest idea about it so that's why they decline it? Most people don't know you even CAN preserve your own food, let alone HOW. The poor dears. We all start somewhere. No one was born knowing this stuff.

@@katie7748 Thank you....there are 3 of us women in our fellowship who are going to offer our knowledge to anyone who wants to come to some informational/practical meetings we are going to have, beginning in June. I've experienced the same situation. I dehydrate eggs and make egg powder. I vacuum seal 2 dozen eggs powdered per bag. I label the bags Egg powder. 2 dozen. Rehydrate 1 part egg powder with 3 parts water = 1 egg. Offering a bag labeled and explaining how the mixture equals 1 egg to be used accordingly may be a solution. Worth a try! I scramble eggs and freeze in bags too. They freeze thin when laid flat and the bags stack nicely taking less freezer space.

Thank you for this important message. This doesn’t only apply to acquaintances but also family members. I originally tried to grow and preserve enough food for my immediate family but with no one to help me for the last 9 years there’s no way for me to physically do it alone. Now that my husband and I are back together after 31 years, even the two of us together can’t do it, nor do we want to when people just have their hand out expecting it. If a man does not work, therefore will he not eat. They are all adults and it’s time for them to take care of themselves and their own family.

Thank you Danny for such an important message for everyone. I’ve been preparing as much as I could. Then my husband was murdered in a nursing home that called themselves a rehab center. So now after his passing and mismanagement of our finances. I have become a slave to that. I want so bad to get out of debt. But I am elderly and can no longer work. What is the answer? I put a tiny bit because it’s all I have. But I cannot pay any of this. Today my sister bought 4 lbs strawberries. I’m canning strawberry jam. I keep asking the Lord to please help me.

Quick answer: File bankruptcy. If you pay cash for everything, you'll get past this weight hanging over your head. I'm sorry this situation has happened to you, but w the trauma of what happened to your spouse, sometimes it's best to walk away from all the threatening creditor mail, and legally walk away from the debt accumulating, and try find peace of mind that you cannot fight the uphill battle. Look at all the people that lost their homes in the Lahaina Maui fire, they Have to claim bankruptcy, BC there is no way to recover, insurance will not pay out, and many homes were on leased land, so they cannot even buy another home. I know you may not like my answer, but at your age, give yourself a break. You won't go to hell for giving up on a situation you cannot fix, and no one will take your home away. Call your local 'free attorney' for advice, by inquiring w the State Barr and they will give you info to proceed. Don't feel embarrassed and try not let pride get in the way. You are not a loser, just that the system pushed you this way. Justice is a hard one. God Bless.

@@kookietherapy9398 thank you so much for your advice. I do have a lawyer and she will not allow me to file for bankruptcy. She says there is no collateral. I thought that was the whole purpose of bankruptcy. I think I’m going to look for a different lawyer.

@@Shar53-xg6hg Call Free Legal Aid for advice in your area. What your attorney states sounds wrong to me. People who file bankruptcy are generally at the end of their rope, I agree. She probably wants to make sure she gets paid whilst adding to a mental breakdown of being overwhelmed. Highly Doubt she is checking into your deceased husband's downfall; let's sweep this under the rug. Lawyers are a joke these days

I watched my parents work themselves into the grave because they were to proud to file for bankruptcy. In the end they still were a slave to the system they worked so hard to uphold and try to do what they thought was right. But in the end it was all about pride.

Whoa! Best porch time ever- you really got me thinking. Firstly about the Serenity Prayer - to accept the things I can't change, and to change the things I can. Then to pray specifically for guidance - and then act on that guidance. So. What do I fear? The demonic political take-over of our country. What do I do? Face it. Pause and pray for knowledge of God's will for me and the Power to act on it. Anyway - gonna listen again but thank you

Great message Danny. I was taught from a young age by my grandparents is that of you want something I need to discuss with my grandmother. Who raised me. one thing my grandmother told me is that you don’t steal to get it. Saying come to me if there is something you want. We will talk about it. I may give you a chore to earn it. I may just give it to you. Or after talking. About it may be something you really don’t need. After your message today I got to thinking that it’s the same with God. We have needs or even wants. He may bless us or we may have to work or after prayer it’s not that important. But we don’t take from others what is not ours.

When praying be specific but only ask for a true need never in greed and thank him daily, if your only begging a whining? If you had a friend who only reached out when they need something how often would you answer that call ? Well the Lord is no diffrent he wants that relationship! ❤ Yes sir, depending on the LORD is the best and only way in my opinion! Here in SouthEast Texas it rained a downpour of four inches in an hour early Monday morning. My plants are happy but it was a mess. High winds.

Excellent Biblical truth that GOD's Holy Spirit gave to you today to share with us listeners. Great Biblical examples to help us choose the right & true way. Yes every person has to make their own choice with Jesus Christ GOD's Son. Thanks. 😊
