Can Buckley just be in every RT production from now on? Just this week, he killed in on the RT Podcast, he killed it on On the Spot, and now he killed it on Off Topic. He fits in so perfectly! I'm so happy that he is now an official part of the Let's Play family, and I'm so excited to see him in even more RT and LP shows in the future. Please invite him to be on Always Open next!

styx87 Your opinion was toxic... and pointless... and stupid, lol.
@Rilumai6 жыл бұрын
styx87 I was mainly joking just to be a goof, but your comment was pretty pointless simply because you added nothing to what the OP was saying and you never bothered to elaborate on why you're not happy that James is appearing more videos. And opinions can definitely be pointless, like if someone holds the opinion that the Earth is flat, you know?
@dvt13936 жыл бұрын
styx87 I wasn't attempting to be toxic. I apologize if it appeared that way. I was being a bit cheeky, but it wasn't meant to be rude or dismissive to your opinion. Everybody is entitled to one. ☺ I would like to know why you don't seem to enjoy James being in more videos.

On the topic of Gender swapping characters, I just think its lazy to change an existing characters gender. It pretty much shows that they can't come up with any new interesting female characters so they just change a male character to female and tack on his history and personality. There shouldn't be a female James Bond, but you can have a female character inspired by James Bond because writers, directors and actors find inspiration in other peoples work.
@Blade-tn4ex6 жыл бұрын
Mind blown by how much sense this makes. While I still wouldn't be offended by a female Bond, you're absolutely right: it'd be more creative and respectful to develop a new character with her own Bond-inspired story than to just swap actors and retcon. Thank you for the perspective.
@helios00746 жыл бұрын
Agree, massive Bond fan here. I hope the whole SJW point around Bond never comes into place. Atomic Blonde proved you can write a good female spy and have her in a good movie. That should be the focus instead.
@NinjaTyler6 жыл бұрын
Blade1186 yeah like why not make a female bond his daughter or niece or some shit why does someone who’s not James Bond replace him as a character, we can have a black or female James Bond type character without replacing James Bond
@genkiiroha32796 жыл бұрын
Aside from my general dislike of gender swapping a source character for the sake of diversity, one problem I see with a "Female Bond" is how rooted seduction is in Bond's repertoire of espionage. While I think it would be baller for a film around a temptress spy, public image of a playboy is much more positive than of a woman who hops from man to man. It becomes a lose/lose scenario where if they avoid the topic of sex and seduction there will be complaints about not staying true to the character's roots, while if they do give her the playgirl persona, it's easy to say that the character is sexist and degrading to the capabilities of women. If they do decide to make a female Bond, I am interested to see how they tackle this. I would still prefer they introduce a new and different character in the universe than just change James Bond's gender.

Fruit preserves is a generic term for any kind of preserved food prepared from fruit and preserved via the canning method. A Jelly is a preserve made by cooking strained fruit purée with pectin so that, when cooled, it forms a jewel clear gel. Jam(which is often mislabeled as simply "preserves", at least in the US) is a fruit preserve made by cooking crushed fruit or a fruit purée with pectin and letting it set naturally. A marmalade is any jam or jelly that include pieces of the outer skin or rind of the fruit. And, finally, a conservé is any fruit perserve that includes nuts.

I understand James’s point about wanting to still see himself as James Bond and if the character was played by a woman then it would be harder for him to relate but like that’s the exact same reason why women want more strong women in movies and media because we’ve seen so many strong men that we had to relate to and I get if you don’t want to change the character but women and young girls especially need good role models that they can picture themselves as
