I just want to say how much I appreciate your no BS, straightforward, informative videos. As a relatively new Concealed Carrier, I have taken a local firearms training class. I was able to fire several different handguns in order to find one that was comfortable in my small hand. I plan to take another class with a different instructor who is familiar with Massad Ayoob’s training methods. In the meantime, I watch as many KZbin videos as much as I can, and practice my draw, grip, aim/sight, and re-holster at least daily. As a disabled senior woman, i see myself as being seen as a potentially easy target. I’m sure I’ll never be in a running gunfight. I do occasionally use a cane, but am relegated to an electric wheelchair most of the time. Firearm skills that are important to me are the safe handling of my weapon; a safe and inconspicuous draw; and accuracy of the shot. Thanks to your videos (and other similar videos on KZbin), I am learning so much. Again, thank you for your videos. They are so very helpful.

Number 1: A gun you won't mind leaving in an evidence locker forever. Seriously, some police will just never return your gun, don't use an heirloom, rare gun, or something you can't replace. Some departments will "lose" evidence too, so beware.

@@jonathanjohnson8656 Oh nice! Those are awesome guns. Yeah it's one of those things you don't want to sit rusting away in a locker somewhere that might as well be a glorified meat pantry for the evidence of a department. Even stolen guns that get recovered by police may never be returned because they're labeled as evidence and cannot be returned until completion of a trial and sentencing that may not happen for decades or ever considering how some bad guys get away for a long time.
@jonathanjohnson86562 жыл бұрын
@@AA-dn8dj you're 100% correct. It's a shame that property ( evidence recovered from theft as well as weapons used in self defense cases) are held from the owners for such a long time. I wanted the p7 since the mid 90s and finally got one about 15 years ago. I believe it's the safest handgun ever built because of its squeeze safety, you can't say you accidentally shot someone. I could sell it for a good profit, but I wanted one for so long I know I'd regret parting with it.

Concealment Express holsters have worked great for me. One thing I like about them is that they are sleek and don't have all of that gaudy unnecessary excess kydex, most of which is full of metal brads, extending off of the wings, but they are still plenty strong. That sleekness makes them more comfortable to wear IWB an can be positioned in a variety of places comfortably. Yes, they come with the kydex or plastic belt clips, but there are options for changing those out for metal clips or snap loops.

Know what else you need if you carry a gun? The best ammo for your particular EDC. Barrel length has a big effect on ammo selection, because even the best JHP's have erratic performance when shot from a short barrel. Plus gun size, weight and overall ergonomics (not to mention a shooter's skill and body makeup) affect the shootability of different projectile weights and pressure loadings. And time of year (colder weather means more clothing to penetrate) also requires attention to maintain maximum effectiveness. Might make for an interesting video all by itself.
