Hey everyone, each episode I get asked questions in regard to my upgrade methods, so I needed to cover that stuff again and the reasons behind those choices. I have to remember that each viewer is not at my experience level, and simply do not know this stuff. One thing I wanted to cover in this one but did not was, Magic Item or Clan War League Medal usages, but I felt those are things are a little too opinionated for my taste. @@Ian-qv1nl you gain nowadays more loot, than you used to do in 2012/13/14. i remember attacking every dude that had 300.000 gold/elixir because that was rather rare. now you often find bases with 700.000+ of each. 100.000 loot today isn't 100.000 loot back then. especially when you think about the gold pass with the bank or the runes. and i want to remember that lvl 10 walls used to cost 3.000.000 gold!

Im a returning player, played the game 2 years ago and now I'm back on it. I had to say though, one thing that I really notice is how easy it is to upgrade walls now. They used to take ages to max out. But now I maxed out all of them in like 2/3 weeks just by dumping extra loot into them. (I'm a new th 10)

Supercell lowered the prices for them so that new players don't feel their progress to be boring and slow. But the new highest townhall levels will still always be hard to do. In simple language, the current TH14 feels as slow as the old TH10, when it was the max town hall. Honestly it's so easy to do lower town hall levels now, I became a TH12 on May 10th, and due to continuous farming, I already finished 70% walls by now. Then again, the TH14 walls cost 7M a piece, so it's still hard at the top levels

Jo I have an example for you, I am a th 12, when I went to th 12, like I usually do I grind walls, fast. I maxed out all 300 in a month, (with gold pass yes), and the reason for doing so is because I can always keep my builders busy and it actually makes my account less maintenance because I don’t have to farm all the time to get some walls done I just farm what I need. The average time to finish th 12 is about 9 months, and I should be going to th 13 in around 7 total. (No I do not buy huge packs, just gold passes) and I unlocked the OTTO about halfway through th 12. But anyways, I think that maxing walls first is maybe better and more efficient because of war weight, better defence against ground, etc. But I have flown through th 12 way faster than some of my clan mates.

I think the think about upgrading the lab one strat at a time is the same as upgrading different decks in Clash Royale. Instead of upgrading every card, it is better to get one deck to max so that you have one good deck, then start on another deck.

I hit th11 with lv10 king and queen and obviously lv1 warden. Not only did I max my king and queen while th11, I also did so before the majority of my base was maxxed out. However, I did up to th12 once my king and queen were maxxed because I grew increasingly addicted to leveling my heroes. While my warden was only lv13. Now I'm roughly 50% thru th12 and my warden is just now maxxed for a th11., and while you ger roughly 3-5 books per month from cwl, clan games, gold pass, etc It'll still take about 2 more months of warden spam leveling to max him to 40. While my king and queen should be maxxed at the end of the next gold pass. Normally I wouldn't stress on it, but 2 additional builders working on upgrades may max my base before my warden, and I fear not being able to use the warden before upping to th12. A lot of people haven't leveled their heroes properly, and experienced that feeling of being able to use max heroes for a month or two after maxing them out, and it's such a rewarding feeling because it's like maxing your offensive capabilities. You can sit back and worry about improving, and not crutching on the idea of "I may have 3 starred with max troops or heroes".

I just started a new account about 1.5 weeks ago and it is th7. This account I am just working on my offensive side of things. Army camps, barracks, spells, lab. Because I want to be able to donate things to myself. So far so good. Defenses are sh1t but noone cares. I can easily farm back 3-5x with my jacked up army. Planning to get it up to th12 I can get siege machines as well.

I always finish first my elixir upgrades (warden, camps, etc.), and then spend it on walls. For dark elixir I think I made a mistake in my TH12. I had almost max out heroes, while having dark troops upgrades still available in the laboratory. So I was worrying I would tap out my dark storage, with nothing to spend on, cause both heroes max, and dark troops upgrades takes 14 days in general (for TH 12), so it's a or of time to spend dark again. So I would have preferred to max out dark laboratory first (or simultaneously upgrading with heroes) so the dark elexir is always needed and used.

my wall tactic has always been upgrading it one or two levels below the max of the current townhall after heroes, then when I'm done with all defense upgrades and army upgrades I use the leftover elixir to level them up to max while I also try to level resource buildings. Before that when I rushed I did not do it like that though, I actually went for heroes plus army, then went for the walls and left the resource building mostly at low levels, what I did was I upgraded only of of the storages for each resource so that it carries and that worked very well up to town hall to 9, after that I just took them up to town hall 9 level and only leveled up the troops I used, which went on much better than I would expect as I'm not a good tactician. I also realized that the defenses took too much time after that point so I usually went straight to wall if I had a lot of excess gold an elixir, which didn't pay off very well but was worth it considering how well it turned out with resource gathering.

I used clashninja as per your suggestion and it was a whole lot better experience on playing coc to plan my upgrades and keep track of how much is the gap between my defenses and lab as I want to max everything at the same time. On th10 I had to catch up a rush from 8 & 9. I ended up with a fully maxed th10 base (walls troops and all defenses) but my heroes were terribly low level. I bit the bullet and ground out 40+ levels of heroes only and left storages outside since I was sitting on full gold and elixir. It took me a year just to finish my hero rush but it felt great being caught up for th11 now. I am absolutely loving your th11 guides!!!

I agree with all the points. But I can’t resist myself not doing wall upgrades fast. It looks very shiny and I like lvl 12 walls more than any other walls in the game.I upgraded to Th11 in the same time Jo did and now I already maxed 248 walls. Only 52 pieces left. My clanmates siitting in Th11 have high lvl defenses. They were in the top position in war. But they don’t have high lvl heroes or walls. I have Th10 defenses but my offense capability is more than those guys, makes me finish higher lvl Th11 bases. This is why I love watching kenny Jo videos. The way he progress is very relatable to me and it’s the best way to progress in the game.

Upgrading walls main purpose is to intimidate attacker especially non pro attqcker. I conducted experiment. 1=th9(max walls & max def) 1=th9(max def & lvl7 walls) The results: The th9 lvl7 walls were attacked more often compared to the th9 with max walls .

Since I started repairing my th9 and advanced to th10 and in th10 I have not had any down time for builders the method is 1.upgrade research facility first and use goblin attacks only for the first stage aiming for elixir and dark elixer 2. 1 builder for wall upgrades using your gold primarly, 3.4 builders to level up all elixir cost upgrades.... buy the time you upgrade all of them your walls will be done your army will be stronger and hold more troops, also gold storages will be upgraded. While doing this use research facility to upgrade dark elixir troops only 4. Once done always have 2 builders for for heros until completely maxed and 3 builders dedicated to all defenses buy then your gold storages will be full constantly because you have no walls to put the gold into, not to mention gold buildings take days. 5. Use all elixirs left over research upgrades, the army and research facility should in my opening be your first upgrades so threw out the process if you have addition resources you can always have a troop or spell in training. As long as you do goblin attacks steady in the beginning your down time for builders will be small once walls are built you won't have to attack nearly as regularly and can just be a casual player

Point 2 is true. I maxed out th10 walls within 8 days and now it's been 2 months since then and I guess I will be moving to th11 now. Have heroes of 37-40. Basically a th10 is little bit lagging in coc i guess with th13 already there .....and already we can see th10s mismatch with th11s in cwl So i feel like if i wait just to max my th10 lab, i would lag more behind. I have done the same, but I don't regret it. Maxing walls was at no point the goal, I just put all excess loot into them wen i could, and I farm allot. Sure, I could slow down the amount I raid, but that is just as wasteful as overflowing on resources.

Well I'm not at that TH yet but good strategies for dealing with rushed THs is prioritizing collectors first so you get as much passive loot as you can. Don't really prioritize walls, they're cool but they're honestly only for intimidation purposes and it'll waste more of your time to prioritize them right now. Focus on upgrading your offence over your defence after collectors because even if you were a maxed TH11, you'd still get at least 2 starred by experienced players. So prioritize camps, barracks, spell factories, and lab. This serves 2 purposes because most of this stuff cost elixir so once you get it out the way, elixir will only be used on upgrading troops and training them. After all that, there's a lot of different ways to upgrade defences but I'd suggest starting with turrets and towers. They're cheaper than all of the other defences and much like the walls, they'll intimidate those with an untrained eye. I'd also suggest looking up some good guides, attack strategies, and base builds for your TH. Knowledge and patience is power in this game. I hope I could help in any way.

This is a wake-up-call video. Im at TH10 and been wanting to upgrade to TH11. I have maxed out all my defenses and walls and almost everything, but some troops and spells, and most importantly my heroes. I focused much on defenses, and now a lot of gold has been wasted when i do looting. My gold collectors are full for a month now. And then this seasons challenge will end soon so a lot of gold is coming too. And also Clan war league is in few days from now, and im sure my clan castle treasury will be full and untouched. At least now i know what to do when i reached th11. Thanks JO!!

I have maxed th9 base with lvl 15 king and queen. I wasted elixer by training army and looting less elixer and wasted gold by upgrading th and cancelling it. I have doing that for nearly 2 months now. At this present time my king and queen is lvl29,just 4 days 23 hrs to max the heros. I have been waiting for this for so long

I got a point to make. PLEASE HIGHLIGHT it. In a case, you are playing multiple accounts upgrading walls does help a lot. Let's just say that after maxing out walls and upgrading some lengthy defenses you can start focusing on other accounts. It helps out drastically.

I'm a recent TH9, watched some of your videos about the How To Series and it helped :) also, I prefer to upgrade the new defenses and resources to the max level of the previous town hall before upgrading the rest of the base :)

03:55 kenny provided you have alot DE its best to have all your heroes maxxed. But with limited DE its much better to prioritize your queen first. Keep her upgrading back to back.

I usually just leave 1 builder not upgrading, then put all loot farmed whilst my other stuff is upgrading into walls, then start another upgrade when something finished. It lets me finish my walls while finishing other stuff, so I don’t have to grind it afterwards

My upgrade philosophy: I prefer farming hard at the beginning of each TH. I will do the offensive upgrades and heroes first and whenever I have full storage with one idle builder, I will spend ALL the gold and elixir to upgrade my walls (like 20/days, very quick), only leaving the amount of gold/elixir for the last upgrade. So I’m not wasting any builder. I never have an idle builder or lab. Also, my heroes are always down before they’re maxed out. The bad side is that I won’t be able to 3-star in clan wars during the period of time, but my clan leader usually doesn’t get mad even I mess up in war, as long as I’m participating. After maxing out my heroes and offensive stuffs, all things left are defence and lab (lab is always the slowest! Even slower than the heroes🤦🏻‍♀️) . And yes, I will have exilir and dark elixir sitting there doing nothing. But that’s ok because that means I can shift my focus from farming, getting resources to actually enjoying different attack strategies, with my maxed heroes! I don’t need to worry for resources at all and I can completely focus on learning advanced strategies. My journey to a new TH is always more boring and tiring at the beginning as I need to keep farming, but turns more interesting at the later stage.

I’m only town hall 8, but what I do is save my dark elixir for BK while I upgrade all the other things (I usually go for collectors and pumps first), and it has worked so far. The only exception is when I use mass hogs in clan war, which I would like to change for something less expensive, and I use the free bonus loot from the pass, and my BK is on its way to level 10.

My strategy is I always have 1 builder available so i can upgrade some walls while waiting for other builder to finish. Because if you have a higher TH you'll wait longer to finish you're upgrades. im currently at TH12 with max defense and my heroe is on lvl65 both king and queen, also my troops in on max level, im just upgrading my traps and some defense left. it's a good strategy though

this is my own preference when I get to a new th level... i will grind out to get some hero levels done and doing any army upgrades done.. ex: I just got to th11 I am trying to constantly upgrade my queen and warden while that I have a lot of gold so I use that on walls so when my queen is maxed or near I can start working on my defenses... i find this the easiest for me.. i use what jo says and implement my own stuff thats worked for me in the past.. if anyone reads that I hope it makes sense 😁

Unfortunately (although this isn't really a bad thing) I've been upgrading my TH10 walls too fast, but I've been doing it using your method of emptying gold/elixer reserves before putting something down. Just too much loot, even with constant hero upgrades I'm having to slow down on raids because my DE is maxed.

I am running on 1 Months 10 days in Th 11 and I have just 40 walls to upgrade, I think it is because of walls price have become cheaper like 1 million now and by doing walls fast you can rest easy not worrying about resources in future and my offensive upgrade are also finishing now.
