I just had a friend suffer massive losses over a few weeks time, including a serious relationship... just all at once like dominoes...and then suddenly those things began to be replaced with much better things and he said it took him to recognize that he would be ok without the things he had initially lost before those things began to be replaced. This sermon has been keeping me up at night the whole week. I'm right in the middle of the tension that my heart was beating so fast the whole sermon. It's hard letting go of old mindsets especially when they are attached to tradition. It's even harder when you've had them for so long that at some point they started to define you. God is doing this amazing work within me but it's also terrifying at times because as i let go of old mindsets it sometimes feels like I'm losing myself. The biggest revelation has been that I'm not losing myself but actually getting to know the real me. That on it's own is another journey, one that I'm excited to embark on.
