My high school guidance counselor said I was not college material. This is very sad to think adults we trust in our school system can speak negative and dream killing things to our children. I attended John Ehret High School in Marrero, LA class of 1989. Don’t rest in anything that does not mean you any good. God decided who I am and has a purpose for my life. The only time you need a college degree is when you are pursuing a medical degree of any type.

Thank you for this motivation. I’m looking into this because I have been to college and I’m not even doing anything related to it. Something less than what I expected. My income is rubbish on top of it. This sounds like gold to me and I have relatives that do this and real estate. I really dont want to go back to college to turn this into a loop. Im looking into this.

I was raised to believe I needed a degree to be successful in life so off to college I went. Years later I realized that an individual didn't have to go to college to succeed. You went to Drexel, a great school, but unlike you I used my college degree in business which was my major but after years of that field it became limited so I too went to banking which I didn't like. Long story short, I always wanted to write a book which I haven't done yet but it's still on the horizon. Anyway, I ran into you and now plan to get my insurance license, buying the study materials from Kaplan on the 3rd, I'm on a fixed income so I'm careful with spending and the initial cost is $106.00 ( the reminder paid in monthly installments) which if I were employed wouldn't be an issue but since I'm not I have to plan. Anyway, I really want my license so this phase of my journey begins June 3rd all because I ran into you. Thank you so much for your encouragement and uplifting. Time 8:25A VA (Hampton Roads)

This is so true a lot of time a degree is not required to take a test for a license or certificate. In some states like California you can take the bar without a degree.

Good message but Id rather have a degree than not. I was blessed to earn two degrees with no debt. I am sure your degree aided in some of your success. You can absolutely be successful without a degree.

Yep! I owe $85,000.00 in student debt however at the time. I wanted to be a Social worker but I would have pursued my passion had I known how go about it. I always believed that you could be successful without a degree.
