I actually got a lot quicker/better at corner entry after running some theoretically slower but MUCH noisier/squeelier tires on the front, just because it made me more aware of when I'm on the edge of plowing and getting into that hopping grinding understeer like in this video. It shouldn't have taken that, but like you describe, type A driver who needs to learn to go slower to be fast, broadly speaking.

Yes exactly! Another topic we've spoke about in the past, regarding burnout. Spending money on great tires is useless without the basic skills, a lower performing tire teaches the sound communication that many UHP tires sometimes miss, and going into a UHP right away is something a lot of beginner racers do right away

Absolutely, Type B personalities would drive more conservatively and would have to do a different set of drills to find speed - both driver types require patience
