After pleasantly enjoying the hell out of Volume 3 growing up, when I had a decent allowance I bought 2 more YDKJ games, one we'll look at next time and this one. Here we take a look at one fun game (with an interesting title I must say), YDKJ Vol. 4: The Ride (either that, YDKJ Vol. 4 or YDKJ The Ride, whichever one you prefer).
This I believe is where YDKJ games started tinkering with the idea of all questions revolved around one specific category per game. Now I know what you're thinking, "If they took away the choice of picking a category for all the questions, where does the variety come into play?" This my friends is where it makes an interesting twist, instead of choosing the category with a set amount to play for, the questions from the category are set into play while the one who'd normally chooses the category instead decides how much the question's worth depending on when he/she buzzes in.
Also what's new in this game are two new types of question rounds: Roadkill and (Jack) B-I-N-G-O (which unfortunately I couldn't get that one in either one of these two games, I do hope to plan in the future going back into this game and showing that off.) Roadkill is kinda like the Jack Attack where you're given two clues and you have to find the one word that links them together, each one being worth $1000.
After the seven answers are guessed correctly or they've passed by after a series of guesses, you better remember what those seven answers were. Why, because the bonus question at the end (worth however much the person who buzzed in the amount) can be yours if you can link all seven of those answers together (only catch this time is that you only get one chance to answer the bonus question where as before you had an unlimited amount of guesses.)
Now although it's not in this video, I'll explain the BINGO question anyway. Say for example ah ahem "They say that he's a genius, but others say he's insane, B-R-A-I-N, B-R-A-I-N, B-R-A-I-N, now let's take over the world." Now based on what was just said/sung (via the Bingo Song) every question you get must have an answer beginning with one of those 5 letters. The one who buzzes in correctly first gets both $1000 and that letter. And the first one who gets all 5 letters spelling "Brain" is the winner and earns the Bonus Cash.
Anyway, this is quite possibly my favorite (if not at the very least ONE of my favorites) YDKJ game of all time. Now although you can't see all of it from this one video alone, the start of the 2nd game at least does give you a small glimpse of how it's played storywise (yes, there is a somewhat story in this game.) And after you completed all games and all the categories, you earn one of 4 rewards for completing it (meaning multiple, by which I mean 4 at the very least, playthroughs of this game.) But enough of my rambling, just watch, see for yourselves and most of all, enjoy!
