Lelouch made a sort of proposal to CC with his new name: L.L (« Ere Tsu ») at the end of the movie. In japan the man can take the girl’s name when they gent maried. « Shi Tsu » (C.C) consider the « Tsu » like a familiy name....

C.C was the only person who fully understood and accepted Lelouch for who he was without question. She chose him for a reason. And though it's not stated whether he returns her level of adoration, it's obvious throughout the series that his love for C.C - whether romantic or otherwise - is almost on par with that of his love for Nunally. Of course that's just my personal take on the whole thing. Their relationship was the most substantial.

This song, this video...every scene, every moment shared between the two of them. All the pieces of the puzzle, coming together to weave a story of pain, sacrifice, loyalty, and love. I wonder if she had a feeling, watching him when he was younger. Wondering if maybe, just maybe this unassuming child had the potential to make her wish come true. He could have, sure. But I bet she never expected him to discover her true wish, and grant THAT one. He promised as much in ep 15 of R2.

I love love...so much. Honestly, little makes me smile like seeing two people who truly love one another, whether they are physical or fictional, aware or unaware. And this song just goes and amplifies the feeling. Haven't cried in a long, long time...but this is pushing it, haha.

Of all the girls on this show, CC was the most deserving of his love. Kallen was in love with Zero. Shirley was in love with Lelouch Lamperouge. But CC was in love with the whole package Zero, lelouch vi brittania and lelouch lamperouge. And she brought him back to life in newest movie , so fuck yeah! All hail c2 :)

i like to believe that Lelouch didnt die and happily traveling the world with Cc for eternity. Now Cc wont feel sad for living alone because she have Lelouch now. :)) Besides, the ending is ambigous and open-ended so its up to the fans on what to think about the ending.

Isaac Muh Unfortunately, this one isn't a matter of opinion. Lelouch is objectively alive :) 1) When Nunnally touches him at the end, she sees one of his memories (talking with Suzaku) - something that is only possible with a code-bearer (remember it happening earlier in the series with C.C.?) 2) We know that code bearers have their names abbreviated (C.C. and V.V.), but in the actual english and japanese dubs of the show, they are actually called C2 and V2. The title of the second season is "Code Geass R2" In japanese, "R" and "L" have the same pronunciation. R2 -> L2 -> Lelouch (or lelouch lamperouge, but it doesnt matter) -> he must have the code. 3) The name of the show is "Code Geass," because Lelouch is the first person to have both of them (the Code from Charles and the Geass from CC). 4) This one's kind of tenuous, but were Lelouch dead, C.C.'s words at the end of the show (about her being wrong in saying that Geass would isolate him) would make no sense. So there you go - Lelouch (in his typical fashion) out-played *everyone* and gets to live out the rest of eternity at C.C.'s side.

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else but I having watched the series a great amount of time it saddens me in the episode where Nunnally is trying to tell him how her day went and he calmly tells her to slow down and that he wasn't going to be going anywhere. Knowing what happens in the end and then in the beginning when he promises he would always be there for her makes it depressing! Nunnally thought her brother would always be there for her only to lose him two years later.

He didn't plan to kill himself. He wasn't naive enough to think that there would be no chance for him to get killed, but there is no reason to believe that he was planning to kill himself at the start when he only started his redemption filled revolution. There were many moments when he survived thanks to luck/uncalculated factors. It isn't sad. He changed/saved his world and the ones of his close ones.

i love that C.C. and Lelouch's love story is NOT emphasized in the anime so that we can see that its there, but choose to believe in it or not, and its not forced on us. except for anyone who thinks lelouch loved kallen... no. stop that foolery.

Yes but in a con a fan asked the writer directly and he stated that Lelouch was dead. Lelouch gave his life so that people would hate him instead of each other. He made his sister cry by dying when all she ever needed was him. He started becoming suicidal when Euphie died which was the biggest regret he ever had with the whole zero thing and could never forget it. That's why he planned to make a blood bath that would make the world forget all about princess massacre. Dying was his atonement.

@NLwino I want him to believe he is dead but interviews dont change the ending the ending was left open for a reason and for me there are two endings in ending 1 he is dead and he died for kallen ( not for nunally cause the episode he almost quit being zero was all about how he didnt need to do things for nunally and instead he started doign them for kallen) and ending 2 he is alive to grants cc's wish to be loved.
