I met Crystal Gayle back in 1976 when I was a booking assistant for an entertainment venue. She was a tiny, lovely woman at 25 and signed her album which I still have. But her husband was a MAJOR JERK. I see that she upgraded since then, to her credit.

She was one of my dad's (and mine) favorite country singers. We just loved her hit," Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue", when it was first released in the 70's. Dad has been in heaven for many years now. But Crystal, I want to thank you for helping me and dad have something in common and something that we could share together. I am looking forward to getting her new CD.

Saw her on an INVESTIGATIVE DISCOVERY SHOW called "I ALMOST GOT AWAY WITH IT" An escape convict managed to get away in Crystal Gale's tour bus. They ended up catching him & Crystal said it wasn't damaged but was amazed how he managed to con security into giving him the keys.

Great interview, Mike! I wish you had asked how many albums she's made. We were wondering that. I come from a very musical family and I understand singing in the living room or den. My grandfather taught music at Bridgewater College in the town of the same name. I have a great great.... Grandfather who was a chief musician to a Russian czar many many moons ago. One of our ancestors helped to build the first upright piano! My brother is a bass player and has been since back in the 60s. He plays with Michael Martin Murphey. You should have MMM on your show. He has a new album out called Austinology. It's a good one! He's a Christian and a fairly good man, too. :) There's never been a better song written, in my opinion, than Wildfire! I was in my early teens when he came out with that. It changed my World! I had a couple horses and I loved them. That song took me to places that none other has. The first time I saw my brother play it with him the tears just rolled down my face. That was in the winter of 1983. Gary's been with him a long long long time!!!
