Loyle is one of the few keeping boom bap alive in the modern era, and somehow manages to fuse nostalgia and rhythm into every track, while still being one of the most refreshing 'new' sounds in a long time. Oh, and he doesn't rap about money and girls, at least not in the 'traditional' sense amongst the majority of artists today. I keep coming back to this song because it hits home, just as most his tracks do, but with a tinge of pain while I nod my head to the beat. That mix of anger and sadness inside, usually too sharp to put into words in the moment, is perfectly frozen in these 4 minutes.
