Electric saws are definitely handy! I have a small gas chainsaw but it's always a hassle to get it running, keep it running, keep it clean and maintained, etc.

20 years ago I needed a saw. I bougt a corded one on sale at Sears for $39. It was the biggest one they had. I used it tor maintenance around my old Victorian house. Now @77 my grandson has it. It never failed me. But then I wasn't doing lumber jack work.

I bought a cordless saw not long ago and used it today for the first time. It works awesome for small tree clean up

I use a battery powered Sawzall, personally. Milwaukee (and others) make a pruning blade called “The Ugly” that makes short work outta most limbs. Quieter than a chainsaw, gas or electric. I gave my Stihl to my young friend handyman/soil scientist - I’m too old to be handling that stuff, even though I used to lend it to my dad when I was younger. (And always had nightmares of him cutting his leg off!)

perfect! i have a similar blade for corded recip saw :) Eric.

It's a good machine. I love my gas saws, but you don't always need one either.

We are healthily and energetically excited about hearing about battery powered equipment!

This saw is quite good, I only have one battery and haven't had an issue yet.

@@gardenfork I have two chainsaws that I use maybe once a year. One is a pole saw and the other has a normal grip. They're both corded. I got them years ago when batteries weren't as good as they are now. They are fine for occasional, minimal use.

I'm pretty well invested in the Makita ecosystem, and when I needed to do a cleanup, I bought myself a Makita LXTx2 chainsaw. It uses a standard narrow chain, can take a standard Oregon replacement bar. It just has an electric motor instead of an 0.30cc gas engine. It's a perfectly capable small saw for someone who uses a chainsaw just once or twice a year, and has no other 2-stroke gas power equipment.

Good to hear. I want to buy a few spare chains for this one, haven't looked to see how available they are. thx!

Since some recent medical issues i have had ro shelve my multiple Sihl gas chainsaws. After listening to you and Will i have been using a Dewalt battery saw and for 90% of my needs it works well. I tried Oregon but am invested in Dewalt universe.

If got a Stihl Gas Saw an a little Gardena telescop e-chainsaw. The combination is the clou.

if it has an oil resivior be sure to use chainsaw oil, not regular oil . and buy a spare chain, keep the chain from hitting any dirt or rocks, it will ruin the chain. :) Eric
