I'm a bit over the hill in age and strength, but blessed with many grandkids. Therefore I've developed a collection of shotguns containing something suitable for all. I've found if the shooter swings the shotgun correctly with their body, not the arms; the weight matters little. Yes, the lighter guns give more recoil, but this can be overcome by gauge and load.

My two favorite shotguns are my 6lb 12ga Franchi 48AL dad bought me at 10years old and I still shoot better than any other and a 6lb British SxS that is just a joy to hunt upland game with. Nobody ever told me a light 12 ga would beat me up (and it kinda does with high loads) so it simply never bothered me.

What about Beretta A recent review recommended a Silver Pigeon as it is better balanced They also said that the Browning was too light and gave face slap

CZ made the " Uplander Ultra Lite" in 12 and 20 ga in a O/U or a SXS. Price is around $700 USD. The 12 ga O/U hits the scale at 6lbs.

Having lost muscle strength after the big “C” I use a Benelli Ethos Supersport and an F16 Game gun. The latter[ grade 4 wood] weighs 7 lbs and cost £3.

Over 7 and a half pounds weight won’t give you the feel of a lightweight gun in my opinion, anyways lovely channel keep up the good work 👍

Great guns, but are they not all stocked for an average height man? In my limited experience, shorter girls perceive guns as heavy just because the stock is too long, and they get the weight of the gun too far forward. My daughter is 151cm, 5 foot?, I chopped off 2" of a spare stock to my 686 and put in some lead to restore the balance. Now she mounts it effortless. What is your opinion on stock length for short persons?

Simple if you want a lighter gun go sub gauge, a 20 gauge will kill anything a 12 will and recoils non existent

I don't need anyone to tell me that 8lbs is too heavy. My 725 is well under that and perfect. U start to drag instead of swing if too heavy.
