I chose the Badlands because I wanted a 4door with a manual AND dual zone climate, larger touch screen, birds eye view. With the other trim levels you have to chose between high tech infotainment or manual transmission. I also love that the tires on the Badlands are significantly larger than the base model and do not look too small. (so you can avoid the costly sasq or lift kit/ wheel upgrade) I ordered it with the hard top and roof rack and towing package. But stayed with the marine grade vinyl and smaller engine (required for manual transmissions) and managed to keep the build under $54k.

I will be buying or ordering one in 2025 once I move. My main concerns are power and luxury. I was leaning toward the raptor, but I figured I could save 10-20k to use toward other things like maybe lift, winch, and bump. what advise do you have on model i should buy. Also, I may just buy one straight from a 4x4 shop. To early to tell. I have a company truck so this won't be a daily driver

Totally agree this is the sweet spot build. Very similar to mine, but I have the hard top and modular bumper. No Sasquatch necessary for the off-roading I have done, and I can upgrade to larger tires/ lift if I get more extreme.

Two door non Sasquatch Badlands Bronco is the best option I’d say. 2.3 is plenty for the two door. Add manual for the gears if you want but it really doesn’t need it. I like my off-road vehicles nimble. The Sasquatch just makes the Bronco too wide and bulky. Need that efficiency too.
@chrisdakins2010

I agree with you completely! I’m building a 2 door badlands on the website and it says the gear ratio for the manual is 4.7. It says that’s the same as the wild track Sasquatch gearing? Only the wild track Sasquatch and doesn’t say the other Sasquatch’s? So I guess if it’s the same gears for that Sasquatch it’s going to be ok to put skinnier 35’s on it down the road?
@brawnto

The 7MT also comes with the 4.7 gearing that's typically only available with the sasquatch package. And to be honest, none of the packages are really worth it.

Looking back on the Bronco, a great off-roadside rescue vehicle in any trim level. With plenty of trunk space enough to carry a set of four punctured 20" wheels and tires. Plus additional room to carry a jack, an impact wrench, an impact socket set, and a torque wrench.

I ordered two Broncos at separate dealers as a strategy to get it built as fast as possible with the intention would let the 2nd order go. By chance they were built the exact same time and almost identically built badlands except one for one being a different color and had the Sasquatch package. I drove both for about a week and though I like the look of the bigger tires I decided to sell the sas and kept the non-sas badlands. The difference in mpg was only about 1-2mpg but I decided to save about 3k since I rarely go off road and the off road handling seemed a bit better… I may throw on 35’s once the stock tires are shot but I’m happy with my decision for now as I prefer the K02s.

I took delivery of a 4DR Badlands, non-Sas, 2.3L, auto, leather, lux. After trading in my Sport Trac it is now my only vehicle. To me, "all terrain" includes the overwhelming majority of the driving I'll do on pavement, so I thought the 33" KO2s were pretty much the Goldilocks size for me. I had a set of KO2s on my '98 Ranger and they were the best tires I ever owned - really good in snow, off-road and smooth and surprisingly quiet on pavement. I've noticed that the Bronco Off-Roadeos include non-Sas Badlands and they appear to be able to conquer all the obstacles there. Bronco Nation did a few videos that had the theme of "Will it make it?" where they successfully drove their then non-Sas Badlands up very difficult off-road trails.

The best overall IMO is the *BASE w/Sasquatch 2.7:litre w/10 speed auto, plus the hardtop, plus all four tube doors for ONLY $48,000* --- And that includes the COOL cloth seats! They are the only seats that keep you from getting sweaty butt in the summer. Not only that BUT they are warmer in the winter as well. Also to keep the glare down at night luckily you get the smaller display, nor do you get the unnecessary electronics that have been over hyped and will eventually plague you with malfunctions, leading to devaluation of the vehicle. Note: a manual sway bar disconnect can be purchased aftermarket for less than $200.

Great vid thx! Mine is a '22 Black Diamond 4 dr. 2.3 Sasquatch soft top. First, 2.3 is much quicker than expected (300 hp, upgradeable to 350 with aftermarket power chip). Second the soft rubber floors/bed and marine seats are very comfy/user friendly (better than leather and carpet). Third, the Sasquatch complete package really compliments the whole Bronco functionality, look, and vibe. Also comes with the same steel bumpers as Badlands, (& MOLLE panelled seat backs) and mine also included tow pkg, aux switches, with a Cdn list price of $66k (Low to mid $50k USD range approx.). Also with 8" screen, base stereo (would have preferred 12" and B&O stereo though).

This build that you are describing is actually what I am leaning towards on my order. I have been waiting since the very beginning for my 2 door, Black Diamond Bronco but I'm leaning towards changing it to a 2 door, Badlands Bronco with the 4 cylinder engine, the automatic transmission and the upgraded 4wd system so that I can get the 4w auto feature. I've test driven both engines and I like them both, so the 4 cylinder will work for me.

My original order was a 2dr Black Diamond. After attending Off Rodeo I had do reorder due to getting pushed to MY22. I ordered the Badlands after seeing all the tech from the factory in action. Either would have been great - for me. Love a manual but based on my driving environment, manual will not cut it. Love the washout floors and aux switches - also chose the HD Mod bumper. I'll install floods after.

I have this model with the 4-cylinder with the manual trans. I live in Yuma AZ and have access to sand dunes and any type of trail from easy, moderate, to extremely difficult. I take this out daily into the easy-moderate sand dunes behind my house or to the easy-moderate trails daily in Picacho, Kofa, or any of the surrounding open areas. I have not taken this out on hard trails with big drops or rock crawling. I don't feel like damaging my new Bronco. This performs extremely well in each of the conditions where I take my Bronco off-roading. Picacho State Recreation Area CA and Kofa Wilderness AZ. One video I would recommend is "Chase Gentry - Ford Bronco BADLANDS MT 2.3L | Off-roading in desert / ride-along" - The video takes place in Feb 2021...the Professional Driver that takes Chase and his camera person out gives some great commentary about the performance of this specific model

While I like the looks of the Sasquatch package, etc. and I could seem some usefulness in serious terrain situations, I wouldn’t run into those situations enough to justify it. Maybe if I were about 15-20 years younger and was always hitting the outdoors. That’s just not my reality.😅

I had a Badlands 4 door!! No Sasquatch package. It was almost everything a Rubicon is off-road, but sooo much more with the day to day liveability. I took that thing as far as this model as built can go. No problems!! My buddy’s Rubicon, stock, was slightly better off-road in the boulders and very high articulation scenarios. I had the 2.7 and it was definitely powerful enough. I found it was definitely better 0-60 than the Sasquatch version TFL had. I’m around 3600 ft above sea level, so performance is affected some. Prior to this I had a 4 door Rubicon Diesel!!! That’s a VERY nice vehicle too!! I’m only 5’8” tall so the seats were just fine, compared to how they just don’t go far enough back for taller people (6’1” or taller). It turns out, I just really don’t like the 4 doors and if I could still go off-roading without so much pain, I would get a 2 door Bronco. If you drive that vs the 2 door Wrangler Rubicon, there’s a very big difference day to day. The Bronco feels much more stable on the road, rides well and tows fine as well. It’s not so nice towing with the Wrangler 2 door. You can do it, but it’s not as stable, especially in high cross winds like we get here often. I’m perfectly happy now with my ‘22 F150 Tremor XLT level finishing, fully loaded at that level including the Torsen front differential and 2.0 kw Pro Power Onboard. I have a small Rayzr truck camper on the back and it’s my mini motor home. I can then tow my different boats and trailers depending on the type of fishing we are doing! Whatever suits you,,,, enjoy it!! Eh!

One of my co-workers (a salesman, of all people) Has a Wildtrack on order. He is the type of guy who wants the best of the best and always gets all the goodies. I tried to explain to him that the Badlands would be the one to get if they want everything. He already has plans for new wheels and suspension, so he does not need the Sas pack. So now he is stuck with no sway bar disconnect, and a nasty interior lol I tried to tell him, but he would not listen. Some people are just stubborn. Badlands is the true top package, not sure why Ford insists on marketing the Wildtrack as such. Other than the Raptor of course.

@2pi628
@2pi628 2 жыл бұрын
The reason there is no engine cover is because of heat extraction. This truck is designed for serious off road use. With the small displacement engines that they have chose to use massive amounts of heat will radiate from the engine itself(They will become heat soaked very quickly). Truthfully they should have made all of the hoods -- heat extraction hoods like the Bronco Raptor has. If you'll notice on the 2.4 litre it even has the cover attachment threaded inserts in the intake. But they chose to leave off the cover -- for a reason. Some people are unwittingly causing more wear on the engine because they wanted a pretty engine compartment. ---- that is if they drive it hard and it's not just a mall crawler.

If you don’t need the Sasquatch package and don’t need to stroke your ego (not saying you, yourself, I have a friend that mall crawls with his Sasquatch 2 door) no sense in paying that much more. It’s cheaper because the main goodies are already there regardless of course. The day to day liveability of the Badlands vs Sasquatch package and drive ability as well, is significant. In some ways the Sasquatch is better, in others it’s the typical trade offs of a lift and much larger tires (fuel economy hit, egress, hit on street performance,,,,). I like everyone definitely supports the to each their own philosophy here!!

Honestly, for what 90% of people are going to do with the Bronco which is mostly going to be commuting & off roading maybe a few times a year the Big Bend will be just fine. I've been watching a lot of videos of people off roading in everything from a stripped down base to the First addition in both Sasquatch & non Sasquatch and while there are differences it's not so great a difference that the cost would justify paying that extra money. The reason why the Big Bend would be a great option is because you can option up to the Mid package which would give people some creature comforts they may want while using it as a daily driver.

Andre, the part you either forget or don’t bother to mention is this is an unobtainable vehicle, or better yet Unabtainium if that’s a word. I know it’s not. Anyway I reserved the almost exact vehicle vehicle May 6, 2021 Have been switched from a 21 to a 22, and most likely will be switched (re-order) to a 2023. So now you know I have not received a vehicle yet. Ford has removed the Clear Bra from all but Wildtrack, have been told remove Lux package, Tow package (options) Delete 2.7 engine, Delete leather interior, delete hard top all if you want to get vehicle sooner. I have been told yet “ Chips are still a huge problem, BUT supplier issues are bigger then that. I also understand there are people who reserved in the first three months that have not received a vehicle yet. How’s that when I have a neighbor who ordered a Outer Banks early this year and they are driving their vehicle? How is it I know another person who has received not one but both husband and wife have their Bronco’s. Both these people waited about 6 months for one and 8 for the other. Both are well optioned $55K trucks. Maybe you can dig into and find out an answer to the absolute crazy situation of who has or gets one and who doesn’t? Yes my dealer is selling @ MSRP. I qualify for Ford A-Plan discounts but nobody, at least I can’t find a dealer who will honor that.. Thank you as always for the fantastic job YOU and the Gand do!

To me, the biggest factor to consider between the two engines is the fact that the 2.7 has both port and direct injection to keep those valves clean. The 2.3 does not. For longevity reasons alone (barring the recent V6 issues), I'd go with the 2.7 even with the fuel penalty. That being said, I completely agree, the Badlands is the sweet spot.

The prices you are naming are what they are supposed to cost. Make sure you explain to everybody what they will probably cost at the criminal azz dealerships. I used to have a little bit of a problem with buying and selling cars. Obviously that gets expensive. With everything that's going on now with the fairy tale numbers, that people just apparently make up and see if somebody will pay, have helped me stop that cycle. Sold everything and bought a used car for $17,000 I feel better about this than any Wrangler, truck, Challenger, or whatever I've had in the past

@@andrewsbbq The overall quality of mine is great, especially for what it is and what it's intended to be. I think those posts are from people that had no clue what they were buying, i.e. porsche macan people that had no intention of leaving pavement with their bronco. So for example, the felt liner on the removable roof could have definitely been better (I had been planning on getting the much higher quality hothead headliner before Ford said their headliner would be free). However, it's a removable roof and frankly I prefer that the money went toward things like the disconnecting sway bar that works under load rather than a higher grade headliner. Or the complaints in those posts about the "cheapness" of the plastic dashboard, etc. The point of the vehicle was that I was able to take a wash cloth and wipe out all the sand, mud, and dirt off the dashboard when I've gone off roading. Installing alcantara might have made those complainers feel better, but I prefer that the kids can make a complete mess of the back seat and I can simply hose it down.
